Non metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer - C61 cancer prostata operata pT3a NX M0, Gleason 3+4=7, PSA 12,6 PD 09/07. nmCRPC 04/19.

I was taking Xtandi and Zoladex injections with a PSA more or less steady around 0,2. The PSA started slowly to rise and went from 0,2 to 0,4 in 4 months fall 2021. I was switched to Nubeqa due to the Xtandi side effects and has been on that ever since. My PSA was in May'22 1,0 and climbed to 2,9 the next 5 months.

My last PSMA PET scan was in May'22 without any findings. My oncologist did not want to change anything at this time. She has added me to a study called ProBio, but before that happens she says they first have to detect some metastasis.

Does this sound reasonable? I feel like I am just waiting for the cancer to spread without doing anything to prevent it.

I have been taking a lot of dietary supplements that I have been recommended, t.ex. sulforaphane, but was advised against most of them as my potassium levels was quite high.

I will take a new PSMA PET and a Scintigraphy on my bones this month.

I would be thankful for any thoughts you have.

Jan

Wait until you get the PSMA PET/CT results and go from there. The rising PSA value suggests metastases.

They will not do anything until there is evidence of radiographic progression of the cancer. Unfortunately there are very few or no clinical trials for non metastatic castration resistant cancer. There are many for CRPC but they require to have mets.
