How long did it take to get the second option, did it help guide you? My doctors are exploring cryotherapy, Brachy Therapy and surgery to remove the prostate. But ultimately, the final decision will be mine. I'm trying to understand the risk and success factors of each option.
I was diagnosed 11/21 and started treatment 12/21. My prostate cancer has returned (or never fully left) after radiation, chemo and ADT therapy (which Im still taking). My Gleason scores are 7's compared to 8's and 9's a year ago.
Thank you.

Tall_Allen gives solid advice so I would strongly consider following his lead. I’m getting treatment at UCSF and have had great care
When was your original diagnosis? I was dx with Gleason 9 (& N1M0) in 6/21 and have been through Radiation + brachytherapy and ADT/hormone therapy protocol. This leads me to ask a few questions that could be applicable to me
You said you were diagnosed 11/22 (two months ago) and started treatment in 12/22. Does this mean you started treatment ana few weeks ago, and is this treatment for the recurrence?
Did you have bone mets hence the added Chemo in the initial Dx ?
How long between when your last treatment and when the recurrence was detected (by PSA or imaging)?
Thanks and best of luck. Happy to chat more about UCSF if that’s helpful.
Thank you for your comments. I had my dates wrong on my post which I have fixed.
I was diagnosed 11/21, Original Gleason scores were 5+4's. ADT treatment started 12/21. Radiation 1/22-3/22. Chemo 5/21-9/21. Follow up scan 12/5/22, Biopsy 12/26/22. Results came back with three samples like this:
Prostatic acinar adenocarcinoma, Gleason grade 4+3 (pattern 4: 70%), score = 7, involving 1 of 1 core and 50% of core volumePerineural invasion present.
And other samples that were 3+4 and 3+3.
My disease appears to have improved, but its still there.
I am now exploring my next treatment options. I've hear good things about UCSF. Also thank you for your endorsement of Tall_Allen, he does seem like a great resource.
