Right before I was diagnosed in 2018 (you can read my journey in my profile) I had just started to become a certified PSIA-AASI alpine ski instructor. Decided this winter to go for it despite not having the strength or endurance of 2018. Really had a lot of fun, met some great people and learned a lot. Happy holidays to all struggling with this disease.

That's so Wonderful Brother and Congrats on that very arduous test,

Guys, we gotta just say F it and get out and at least try. I know I'll never complete another marathon, but I've redirected to other pursuits.
Fight on, Hike on Ski on

Congratulations!!!
Congrats, keep fighting
Bull riding requires something that are pretty atrophied on me now!!!!
Very large congrats to you for your determination and success in getting this certification. Well done, considering how ADT weakens our athletic performance, especially at altitude, where low RBCs/platelets affect oxygen carrying ability. Cheers!
Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 ⛷What is your home mountain? My background, activities and interests are similar to yours.
Also a patient of Nat Lenzo in Perth. See my prior posts on treatment there last May with Lu-PSMA-J591. You might consider it and consult with him about it as a “cleanup “ treatment after SBRT.
Still skiing, snowboarding and XC here at Mt Bachelor mostly. And backpacking adventures in the Summers. Once took the alpine ski instructors exams with my wife and was on telemark skis but could simulate Alpine. Just for fun. Perhaps you could offer skiing classes or seminar for cancer survivors in conjunction with a local mountain, if so interested? Paul
Closest hill is Montana Snowbowl but I ski most at Lost Trail Powder Mountain. Talked to Dr. Lenzo 2 or 3 times when I was exploring LU177. Really nice and smart guy was always my impression. Because of travel restrictions at that time I ended up going to Heidelberg where I got LU177 and AC225. Dr. Lenzo encouraged me to follow-up with local external beam radiation which I did. Where do you ski??
Congratulations, brother!
