Hello again, brothers and sisters. I am just wondering if anyone else has enjoyed the amazing successes that Ronron has had with estrogen applied transdermaly. Please explain how you apply, if you use it exclusively, how much, where you get it, etc.. Big hugs and Best wishes to all.

Thanks Smurtaw. Is Climara the same as estrogen? Is that all you use now?

It will not happen but it would be an interesting study comparing topical estrogen to Lupron or others. Also QOL considerations.

The PATCH study in Europe has been doing just that for several years. Results I have seen so far are very favorable to topical estradiol (estrogen). Lupron has many side effects due to blocking Testosterone AND Estrogen. Keeping estrogen by using patches results in a much better quality of life (no hot flushes, protects bones, prevents cognitive impairment, etc.) . If I end up needing ADT, I will push hard with my Oncologist to go with the estradiol patches which offers a better quality of life. One negative is the likelihood of some gynecomastia.

This is very useful to us all, Jack71. Thank you so much.

I believe you can get radiation to avoid gynecomastia.

There are 2 treatments that can help with gynecomastia: Radiation and Tamoxifen.

Neither one is 100% effective. A single dose of radiation of 10 Gy stops growth in about half of patients. Tamoxifen might work somewhat better with 20 mg/day, but introducing another drug might have its own side effects. See here:

This paper discusses gynecomastia while on Bicalutamide, rather than Estradiol, but it is dealing with the same problem: too much Estrogen.

Thanks so much Yingsang (love your name). Ronron is a long time member of our group with lots of successful experience with estrogen.

I’ve had great success. Let me re-say that..,. Estrogen has changed my life.

Extreme sweat and hot flashes every hour under lupron. I’ve be on estrogen gel since august and the flashes are down to a couple times a day at half the intensity. It took a little over a month for it to build up in my system.

SE: I’m in great shape, so I stay ahead of the gynomastia (man boobs) and my nipples didn’t get tender til about 3 months in.

Rx: you’ll need a prescription and prior authorization if you want insurance to pay for it.

Dosage: I take two packets a day. (One A.M. one Pm). Lately I’ve been taking once a day as I’m a minimal amount needed to get the results kinda guy.

Brands: divi gel, estradiol pump, estradiol packets it’s all the same

Hope this information is helpful to you. Best

Hi, any suggestions for dealing with the tender nipples, other than nipple covers? Thanks.

Hi NSU, any suggestions for tender nipples? Did you use anything?

I believe the PATCH trial was absorbed by the STAMPEDE trial.

The older estrogen drugs taken orally have to make a first pass through the liver, which can cause blood clots leading to heart attacks. The new way is to get estrogen into the body by absorption through the skin, i.e. patches, gel, or cream.

I am not the expert on this, but I believe I heard about PATCH and STAMPEDE on this forum. A quick search came up blank, so I can't positively verify it.

Something wrong with the URL. The PDF file is corrupt.

Thanks for browsing and double checking this.

I am also osteopenic with 13 % major fracture risk over next 10 years and 7% hip fracture risk....you are or were similar? Has the use of patches minimized additional bone weakening as tested with DEXA scans? I'm gripped in fear of both the PCa and the side effects of treatment!!!

Smurt your summaries and resource library is invaluable. I’m soo impressed with your work.

You have me chuckling, One-Eyed-Jack. This is a joke, right? I have lots of áloe in my guarden and actually do use it for acidity. There are people who swear that it can cure cáncer, but Im not a believe of that.
