Hubby has been on an exhausting series of Docetaxel. 27 to be exact. #25 & #26 having carboplatin and neulasta added to the mix. PSA has been climbing about 10 points at each 3 week appointment reading at 108.5 at our last appointment. We've been going back and forth between treatment decisions wanting Pluvicto and starting Xofigo. Our MO fought hard for Pluvicto. After peer to peer review with insurance and the availability of it being an issue he was finally able to get us scheduled. My husband will be the first commercial patient at Gateway. There has been one trial application before him.
Now the questions and concerns. His HGB was 9.4 at our last appointment. It was 10.1 at our previous appointment 3 weeks prior. He wasn't given carboplatin and neulasta with his last docetaxel. The docetaxel was a reduced dose. Hoping his blood counts improve with these changes. Labs are scheduled the 17th. Has anyone experienced low blood counts that improved after discontinuing carboplatin? I'm aware that his HGB needs to be above 9 to receive Pluvicto. We're just so close to that threshold.
A PSMA GA68 pet scan was done a month ago. I'm wondering how often these are given between treatments.
I'm reading and following several of you that are also starting this treatment. We watched the video link that was posted here a couple of weeks ago. I have to say it did help my anxiety level to hear so many on that panel speak so highly and hopeful of Pluvicto and trials on the horizon.
If anyone can kindly share any advice, interactions, problems?
Wishing good health and hope to all of you!
