What should We do now?

My father, aged 59 was recently diagnosed with mHSPC.Our MO started 1st leuprolide injection on 5th July and he started bicalutamide along with it.Then he asked to stop bicalutamide and visit him with a PSA test. When we 1st checked psa it was 1389. Then after that leuprolide inj and bicalutamide it was 366. So day before yesterday our MO told to start abiraterone+ Prednisone and we started it from yesterday morning-four 250 mg tabs . Then dad noticed blood in his urine and bloating in the stomach. My question is that is it a side effect or something serious ? I love my father a lot.

Please talk to his doctor about triplet therapy:

Blood clots in the urine may be caused by a UTI. Ask his urologist.

His MO told us that he is not fit for docetaxel right now.

That is a lot of different drug to go though in a short amount of time. Aside from that he should see his doctor immediately.

If this were me I would find a new urologist. It seems this one is not sure of his treatments.

It sounds similar to the treatment I have started on in the UK - 4 weeks of bicalutamide with first ADP (Prostap in my case) injection in the middle of the 4 weeks. Then start enzalutamide in parallel with Prostap. Isn't this SOC at the moment?

I don't know about the side effects, but like others, I would advise he talks to his Doctor immediately to check.

Good luck to you and your Dad.

Wow. I feel for your Dad. If your MO confirms this is a side effect then Enzalutamide might be a good alternative. Good luck.

The Mets are in the bones and lymph nodes

Bloody urine is concerning. Could be any number of things. I know enzalutamide is available in india. Perhaps you father might tolerate it better.

Im so sorry your father at the young age of 59 shares this diagnosis with us.59 seems young to be told not fit for chemo.

If you can communicate the reason the Dr. thinks father is unfit for chemo helpful people here might have more recommendations
