PSA dropped from 54.5 to 2.1 after first ADT treatment 8/21 then <.064, <0.64 <.064 for the next 3 month intervals of Lupron, Abiraterone, prednisone. I keep reading about ADT holidays. Under what conditions is that advisable?

If ADT is hard to take and you want a vacation. There is no other reason.

Given that IADT is not inferior to continuous, and that ADT does imperceptible damage to the CVS and bones, why should continuous ADT ever be recommended?

Well, the data are inconclusive. In some men iADT is inferior.

Non. My advise is that if a treatment is working, stay with it. No vacations. Your only giving new lines of cancer cell a chance to find a work around to the drug.

I couldn't agree more, if it isn't broken, then don't fix it. I wouldn't take a vacation, it's opening the gates that have been firmly bolted.

There are many days my ADT and Zytiga kick my butt; but They are working and I have found staying active helps a lot.

ADT Vacation-I don't think so! Thanks for all your comments which straightened out my thinking. After 6 months I started losing strength and muscle mass which means ADT is doing it's job in suppressing testosterone. Why would I want to stop that? Be patient. I may have other stupid questions but meanwhile I am off to the gym.
