Swelling and inflammation

I had RALP with lymph p h nodes and SV removal. Thursday AM. Home and feeling pretty well considering except the swelling. Did anyone have the heavy abdominal bloating and swelling? Scale says I gained 6 lbs in a couple days and had virtually little to eat and 24 hrs were IV fluids. Bowels are working.

Yes. We both had about the same pre surgery diagnosis. I just had my RALP 2/14/22. Removed prostate, lymph nodes, seminal vesicles, and nerves. It took me a couple weeks for all the bloating to go away and 3 to 4 weeks for the incisions to heal. I also had a stent so it took a few days after that was removed before the blood in my urine cleared. I also ended up with 2 UTI’s.

Going on 4 months now and I’m feeling pretty good. Gained most of my countenance back as well. Post surgery pathology Dx is pT3bN0M0. My post PSA was 8.11 so I’ve started Bicalutamide 50mg, and will start Lupron in about a week. I have a PSMA-PET scan set for the 15th to restate my cancer and see why PSA was so high. PSA test on the 24th and see my Dr on the 29th to go over results.

What was the Stent for..heart?

It was a line that went through the ureter that connected the kidney to the bladder. One of the lymph nodes that had to be removed was very close to the ureter so they put a stent there in case it got nicked.

Same to you. Good luck and I hope for a good pathology report.

UTI after removal of urinary stent?. Did the doc give you an antibiotic when he removed the stent? If not he should have (Cipro).....

Oh no. I acquired the UTI's about a week after RALP and prior to removal of the catheter.
