Three months of Lupron

I have been on the 3 month Lupron. Aside from my butt hurting for two days I have tolerated it well. Doc offered 6 month but I’m staying with the three months because I have had no issues.

Hello, No wonder your butt hurts! You are supposed to get the injection in your stomach. Only kidding! Switch to a lupron type drug like Zoladex (goserelin) which is injected in the abdomen every three months. No problem sitting down! 😀

Lupron is not a buttock injection by design. It’s more commonly given in the abdomen. You don’t need to switch to a different drug. You can just tell your MO you want it there.

You might just get a sore abdomen in your trade, but there are things such as icing the area beforehand and asking them to inject more slowly that some find helpful.

Is there a question? I have had 3 month Lupron injections for >2 years with no issues.

I have, my choice, monthly Lupron shots in alternating hips. Only issue I have ever had was when forgetting to remove the bandaid before bed. Takes off some skin if on too long. Lupron is given in many other locations where there is fatty tissue. Belly once and no issues just don't like getting it.Talk with the nurse doing the shots about your pain.

Consider changing over to Orgovyx. It is a pill and is easier on your heart.

I've gotten Lupron in the butt many times with no issues.

However, two years ago there was a Lupron shortage so eligard was used; with it, I do better getting it in the stomach. Same with my Xgeva shots.
