My fourth Jevtana/Carboplatin infusion was moved back a week due to extreme fatigue and poor blood work results. PSA elevated from 1168 to 2078 in the three-week time between scheduled treatments. About a week ago I lost stamina and became extremely weak and experienced shortness of breath. I was barely able to walk into the infusion center. The nurse drew the lads and said she would be surprised if the doctor would give the go-ahead for the chemo. Bone pain is back in full force.

My oncologist wanted to give me an extra week between chemo to see if my stamina improved. He seems to imply that a fourth Jevtana/Carboplatin would be in order even with the PSA escalation. I offered up the possibility of switching to Doxitaxal/Carboplatin and he didn't think that would make that much of a difference. His immediate plan is to see if the stamina improves to allow chemo to continue. Any thoughts from members are welcome indeed.
CT and Bone Scans have been ordered. Waiting for appointment confirmation.
