So first of all I want to thank all of you who took the time to respond to my post about my brother and positive visualizations. I couldn’t respond to everyone but I read each and every post with gratefulness
Bob ended up back in Boston in the ER with plural effusion. 3 pounds of fluid in his right lung and 2.5 in his left. Both were drained successfully. However, Bob is weak, he has lost his voice and is very horse and he has developed a persistent cough.
We pray the fluid does not return for sometime if at all. He had to go back to get x-rays and blood work done today to check. Metastatic effusion happens in less than one percent of prostate cancer. Bob’s results came back last night negative for metastatic. It was wonderful news
Bob completed his last two inflsions of SBRT while at the hospital getting his lungs drained. It all was so much going on at once.
He has had a rough go because he has nausea and vomiting and is eating very little. Some of his side effects are concerning to us. However we are not sure if they are coming from radiation, the lungs, withdrawal from opioids after back surgery etc it’s all so overwhelming.
Bob is scheduled for chemo on March 9. One day at a time. Keeping positive thoughts for Bob and all of you!

Great to hear positive news. Gosh Bob has / is having a rough time, but we will continue to visualise the lovely happy scene you conjured for after the chemo. One day at a time as you say. Still taking a minute for Bob.
Man is a trooper. Deserves some down time to regain his sense of being. Please keep us posted. My 5 days of SBRT/SABR to Prostate andv3 days to the T5 spine did not give many side effects. Some fatigue (what’s new after 14mos of ADT), and some deep pain in T5 so I believe your Bros symptoms may be from other procedures.
Glad to see that your brother finally got the care that he needed. What a terrible ordeal you’ve all been through. It’s terrifying to think that you can’t get adequate medical care when in extremis. Positive thoughts and prayers are all that most of us can offer, but I hope that they give your family some divine help and peace.
Lots of great wishes and prayers for Bob which I echo. But what about you. How are you holding up? Tough on caregivers. What a great dedicated sister you are. He’s very lucky to have you in his life.
How’d you guys get along growing up out of curiosity?
We got along very well. I am the oldest of five he is the youngest. There is 8 years between us. He was always my baby brother and I guess I’ve always taken care of him. Being the oldest comes with a lot of responsibilities to your younger siblings. We had a great life growing up. Typical sibling squabbles. Bob is greatly loved.
Thank you for posting Faith. I have been thinking of you all every day and visualising Bob, his daughter and the pick up truck together with happy smiles. I will continue to do so. Xxx
Give Robert my regards.... and tell him not to mess with the nurses.....Remember they're the ones who hold the upper hand.....And Sis you're an angel.............
