I have always been a person to see the glass half full. Someone who believes in the power of positive thinking and that good old law of attraction. You know, like the days when you’re running late for work and you hit every red light and your whole day seems to follow suit. Or the days you hit all those green lights, the sun is shining and your boss gives you a raise!
So my brother has been admitted to the hospital in Boston through the ER last night. He has one lung that is 100% filled with fluid and the other 50%. He is having difficulty breathing. They need to drain the fluid however he is on blood thinners due to a blood clot from the surgery on his back. (yes, one thing after another).
They don’t want to puncture him because they are afraid he may bleed into his lungs. Today is a holiday and they’re short staffed. His MO is on vacation for the week although she has been involved. So, it’s complicated. Sometimes when it rains it pours.
So, how can you help? You can picture a good looking guy of 58 years old getting into the passenger side of his gray pickup with his beautiful daughter who will soon be going for her driver’s license. Picture him happy as they drive off.
At the risk of having everyone think I’ve lost my mind, I’m posting this. Just take a minute for Bob. Thank you

Bob will be in my thoughts today. I have a 17 year old daughter, and feel his desire to help with with his daughter's transition into adulthood. I'll say a prayer for him and all of you that love him so much.
Bob is under the care in one of the world's greatest health facilities with some of the smartest medical care givers in the world. He could not be in a better place right now, so believe that he will be okay. I believe that. They have cared for me and saved my life. They'll save Bob too!
I am taking a minute for Bob and visualising his grey pick up and beautiful daughter. The sun is shining and he is smiling as he gets in the passenger side with pride and love for his daughter.
Anyone watching can see how happy he is and his daughter knows how loved she is.
Tell Robert to make sure he teaches his daughter to make 3 right turns to go left without making a broken U turn to end up going in the left hand direction.
Also tell him we have a lot in common.... I'm an old uglygray guy trying to pickup someone's daughter and teach her how to drive.
What's with those doctors in Boston.....your poor brother needs immediate attention!!! Tell him to hang in there and keep fighting so he can see his eventual grandchildren get their master degrees.....
I see bright sunlight coming from the heavens filling the pick up truck and turning it golden. You must have asked GOD for the same favor and HE heard. Praying.
A believer in the power of attraction! So thinking positive has its merits and effect! It appears you've stumbled upon this as well. It's all good as the power of the mind is completely misunderstood and underestimated!
And adding to it all is my thoughts and prayers heading Bob's way for a successful stay at the hospital and full recovery!!!
Everything in moderation, diet, exercise and faith: " And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5: 3-5
I'll take a minute for Bob. and I'm picturing Bob in an early 80's Ford F-150 with a manual trans (teach that girl how to shift! she may be the only one in her high school that will know!). I will hope that Bob is doing better today!
Just an opinion from where I work and my experience in the field, is that if they don't drain the fluid he will die and so the management of the clot can be attempted once he is back breathing. It is a terrible conundrum and my thoughts are with you.
You are the guiding light of faith for what is the point with out it you are the belief we all hold on to.Be the strong faith we all have to have which you have been..Praying for rebound into your arms again…God bless
As a guy that got to do this with his daughter just a few short years ago and was so thankful, I am indeed visualizing and know how important these moments are... thank you for reminding me, Faith 1111!
Bob deserves that moment you paint, and much, much, more! Thoughts and prayers! - Joe M.
Always keep the faith. I believe we are all on our own journey and we can influence that journey by our actions, thoughts and spiritual outlook on life and death. I send all the best wishes for your brother's full recovery and that he will enjoy every moment, going forward.
Stopped work for lunch and looking out of the window each lunchbreak picturing a good looking 58 year old getting into a grey pick up truck passenger side. The driver is a beautiful and young. The sun is shining and they are both happy.
My wife has joined me in a daily lunchtime ‘taking a minute for Bob’. From us in the UK
Still ‘taking a minute’ for Bob, Spring is here in the UK with crocus and snowdrops in flower. I associate those early spring flowers now with my picture of Bob getting into a grey pick up truck as a passenger, so happy with his lovely daughter in the drivers seat.
