Just wondering does radium 223 act the same as chemo when it comes to xtandi versus abiterone? My hubby has done 6 months of radium 223 while on xtandi and will now have scans in feb. Will he be able to try abiterone now or will he be faced with chemo? I know it might not work for long anyhow. I feel like we have used a lot of the big guns already.
Thank you everyone

If he was treated with xtandi and xofigo, when there is radiological evidence of disease progresión, he could be treated with chemo or LU177 PSMA (after 3 months of the last xofigo treatment).
Discuss about having a direct biopsy if possible or a liquid biopsy to determine if the cancer could respond to olaparib, rucaparib, keytruda or to chemo with platinum compounds.
Hi Magnus the last result he got from psa was 90 in October where we stopped asking as it was freaking us both out! I would say its a lot higher now. As you say on HU we are not treating psa. Scans in oct showed a new lesion on his spine and a nodule in his lung that they are keeping an eye on. They are not worried about his lung so I'm hoping they are right. Xoifgo was rough going on him ..worse than chemo. Thats is why I'm asking if we are now facing chemo.
Hi there, my Dad finsihed his 6th session of Xofigo at the end of December, he is on Xtandi aswell (peace 3 trial) his PSA climbed through the treatment and like you I stopped asking when it was 90, I imagine it is a lot higher now. He has scans in March. The last Xofigo treatment was tough on him, his hemoglobin & Platelets took a dive and he needs a couple of blood transfusions. The most recent was 2 units last weekend (HG 7.3, platelets 53). Last scans in December showed stable.disease. He has had quite a lot of rib pain since the zometa and is anxious about that but doctor said to give his levels a chance to improve its all Hand in hand. Praying the xtandi starts bringing his PSA down and he gets some time away from.invasive treatments for a while. He really needs it. 9 rounds of chemo last year was hard and the results didn't last long, his cancer is very aggressive. Hoping ur scan results are positive 🤞🤞🤞🤞
He is suffering with a lot of bone pain at the minute. He was in hospital a few weeks ago with severe rib pain and given morphine. He is taking that all the time now.
That's so hard, Dad is having bad rib pain too he's on oxycontin and oxynorm. He is meeting with the radiation oncologist next week to discuss spot radiation to the ribs as it really worked on his shoulder and both hips 🙌🏻 Has ur husband had any radiation for pain relief?
