I started firmagon and zytiga/prednisone on December 10. On January 7, testosterone was below 3, but PSA increased from 4.8 to 5.1. Home likely is prostate resistant cancer after first treatment?
I may be on the wrong forum here, because I am Gleason 8, cribriform morphology and PNI, but no indications of advanced PC. Starting radiation soon.
If so, send me link to right forum

It in very UNLIKELY that you have androgen resistance this early. It seems like your dying cancer cells are releasing a chunk of PSA temporarily.Watch PSA every month to see the trend. If it goes up and then drops lower then, that means current treatment is working well. If it keeps moving upwards..then more evaluation will be needed. Reaching T to 3.0 is a very good sign.
You may bei experiencing what we call the PSA bounce. The dying cancer cells give off PSA causing momentarily rise in your reading. Wait till next PSA.
Not castration resistant - you probably just had PSA taken too soon after starting Zytiga. It should be a month later, otherwise PSA is from dead cancer cells.
