Today in Denmark, the 24th, we celebrate Christmas Eve where we get presents etc. Every Christmas is a joy for me, because it means that I made it another year to be around for my wife and three kids. As many of you know, 2 years ago I got, from one day to the other, diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic PCa (PSA close to 100) at the age of only 45 years. It's really tough to be "in the middle" of your life with career, busy with kids, house and all that (my kids were 4, 8 and 10 at my diagnosis).. Well, I am still here at the age of now 47 and my goal is to be here long enough for my kids to move from home.. So I will need to be around for another15 years or so.. FYI, I am on Eligard (6 month shots), abiraterone 1000mg and have had lots of radiation (not for pain but to fight the PCa as aggressively as possible, evidence or not)...

Every Christmas Eve my mind goes back to Christmas Eve with the Hansens in Frederiksborg, Denmark in 1979.
It was my daughters' first experience of fresh falling snow.
We all - myself, my late wife and our two children had our first experience of the special Christmas Eve fare, presents brought from around the tree, real candles burning on a real tree, and a white Christmas - all within a wonderfully warm welcoming Danish home.
Our Christmas Day is over this year, but as with every Christmas celebration we have, those Danish memories are part of the background.

Merry Christmas from Pennsylvania,. Come the end of January it will be a year for me. I just finished my chemo 9 Dec. Hopefully you have many more years, as I am hoping to have more with my family and 23 grandchildren. I am very grateful for being here and having this year. God has been good to me!

I was diagnosed 20 years ago, just before age 50, with PSA 600 GS8, a lot of bone metastases and some nodules to my lungs.
The situation was terrible then. I was sure I was going to die soon.
But today, after a not simple fight, I am in excellent condition, the PSA is kissing zero and I actually have no need for treatments against this shit.
I think I can understand your situation because I also had 3 small children then and I had a strong desire not to leave them without a father.
So today, when I already have 4 grandchildren and one more on the way, I can say with satisfaction that I overcame cancer and if I did it you can too.

Did you do a genetic test to identify risk-increasing mutations like BRCA1 and BRCA2?
Merry Christmas from Nova Scotia, Canada.I had surgery in 1997 at the age of 59. If I was to suggest something it would be for you to forget that you have cancer and go on with your life.I decided a long time ago that I would live with cancer and not die from it. The only time that I think of it is when I go for my monthly blood work then it goes back on the back shelf again until the next month. Good luck and stay positive.

By the way, if you haven't seen a woman singer who calls herself Nightbird, I would strongly recommend that you go to You Tube and look for her. She was on America's Got Talent. A very brave young lady who sings beautifully.

Like youi am stage 4 with bone mets and going onto my 8th year. So you have much to look forward too. Stay positive and keep the faith.
