PSA Pre and Post Orchiectomy. Any thoughts?

My PSA numbers are puzzling. My MO yesterday said "your guess is as good as mine" PSA before Orchiectomy .2, .3, .49, .57, .55, .75, .99, 1.1 after Orchiectomy 1.0, .83, .89, .7, .38, .27 all tests taken 6 weeks apart. The other change with my last blood work was that my RBC, WBC, Hemoglobin are at mid normal after being below normal since radiation 3 yrs ago. It feels like I got a nice Christmas present.

Th photo is our sugarhouse that we will start the sweet process in about 1 1/2 months. Hope mother nature cooperates, not like last year. Merry Christmas to all.

Good luck with your syrup. Nothing tastes better on waffles or pancakes. Looks like you have plenty of wood

It was going up before the Orchiectomy, and after it is going down.

What is the issue?

I don't have an issue of it going down. I thought someone could explain the decline since my MO couldn't.

With a PSA of 1.1, why did you get the Orchiectomy?

I didn't want chemical castration for life with Lupron. I don't want potential cardio vascular issues as reported by some of our members, nor out of pocket expenses with shots. As a result I have increased energy and less intense hot flushes. I don't know why my psa is decreasing, that is the question.

Your MO is too deep into the BS lie that big pharma has sold to almost everybody, that chemical castration is equivalent to Orchiectomy.

Here's the proof again, it's not equivalent, Orchiectomy has a stronger negative effect on PCa, than the chemicals.

Celebrate the fact that you made the right decision.

I left this post open. Sorry its been awhile since original post.I just had one question.

Are you sure your energy level has increased ?

I hope so for your sake of course as that would be great for you.

But generally I thought that no testosterone was the cause of our depleted energy no matter the method of eliminating the testosterone.

If you truly have a different energy level I would like to know. It would tip the scale more towards Orchiectomy.

Cesces asked a good question. Why did you get the orchiectomy with a low PSA? Granted it was rising but very slowly. Were you having symptoms, or was Pca confirmed by biopsy?

To answer your question, small movements in PSA in the ranges you have can be caused by irritations or inflammation in the prostate bed.

I'm starting my 10 year and give most of the syrup away. The boiling is a social event and more of the family especially the grandkids are taking over, emptying buckets, stacking wood and canning. Can't keep them from sticking their fingers where they shouldn't. Happy New Year to you.
