I have been on the SOC (standard of care): Eligard and Aberaterone, plus Prednisone and various blood pressure and bone drugs for over two years. My last CT scan more than a year ago showed metatastic cancer all over the place, spine, pelvis, other bones, soft tissue, lymph nodes, etc. I had a new CT scan two days ago.i was ready for the worst. The scan found nothing anywhere. Nada. No cancers anywhere. My oncologist at Georgetown Hospital in DC said, “I can’t explain it, but you should celebrate.”

I bought myself a bottle of Irish whiskey.

There is hope.

Cheers!Awesome news!

Were both scans done on same machine?

I am just beginning on the drugs that you mentioned. Would you tell me about your diet and exercise and supplement routine. Would like to be buying that bottle of whiskey in two years.

Different machines, but I am not going in for another scan because I really like the last one. I am going to frame it.

Reason I ask, is because I had a BoneCT scan and then a Soft tissue CT scan that showed nothing and then a month later had an Axumen F18 scan that showed mets in the lymph nodes.not all scans are equal ;-((

I hear you, but I like this last scan so much that I am sticking with it until forced to take another kind.

With rising PSA and clear bone and ct scans, I got an F-18 scan that showed 2 new lessons which we zapped... PSA down for 5 mo. in a row since...

I probably need to do the F18 scan, but first i want to be happy for a while based on the CT scan.

Agree with you. My scan was done acct quickly rising PSA and clear regular bone and ct scans.

I’m guessing the photo is after the whiskey.

I think any spontaneous remission has to be driven by the immune system. Can you ask your oncologist if he can test your blood for immunogenic activity against PCa?

I’ve been thinking that there may be a way to transfer immunity from someone with spontaneous remission to someone with active disease. I haven’t figured out how to do the transfer, but want to talk with researchers about it.

I will ask my oncologist because I never heard of that test. She says she has no idea how this happened but that I should tell people that the reason is that I had a good doctor. (She was laughing when she said that.) My treatment was SOC. Nothing special.

Always good to take credit for unexplained success.

I don’t know what the test is either, but I’m guessing there’s one. It took me a while to realize that oncologists that see patients are different from those that do research. I think a researcher would know how to test for the effect.

Such good news. Can there be anything else to explain it.? A vaccine, change in BP meds?

Just don't sip all that good whiskey in one night or you might have an unexplained head ache the next day... Great scan results.

The only thing i can think if to explain it is that the scan machine was broken. I am enjoying the moment but eventually i will ask for another kind of scan.
