I’m wondering if any members have tried Estroven for hot flashes. It contains a rhubarb extract that has been used for menopause symptom relief. I tried it and had pain in my muscles near my spine and rising PSA. This was after finishing chemotherapy and before aberaterone so the PSA rise may be unrelated. I had also demolished my kitchen countertop the weekend before, so muscular pain could have been from that.
This is anecdotal and confused with other inputs. I don’t know of any studies for ADT hot flashes. Stopped using it since it could have been a negative effect.
Does anyone have information on using it for ADT symptoms?

I can’t help you except to say that I have been taking the generic antidepressant venlafaxine for about 8 years. It stops most hot flashes and sweats and reduces the intensity of the ones I still get.
Glad that works for you. I took one dose and earned a trip to the ER. It causes syncope (passing out) in a small percentage of patients. Unfortunately I’m part of that group.
Wrecked my eye sight, balance, situational awareness and doubled my hot flashes.. Works for some, not for all. This darned aPca treatment is such a balancing act we all seem to be on a high wire.. Megace and black cohosh root killed my hot flashes completely, problem was it also effected my driving to the point my wife limited me to low speed local runs.. now, well hot flashes are livable and Good Life Goes On.
I have been on Orgovyx since April of this year. Rapid drop in T to 7, PSA down from 1.43 to .38. I requested three doctors to prescribe Estradiol patches to try and reduce some to the side effects (hot flashes, bone loss and brain fog) of ADT. They would not! I elected to purchase Estrogen Bi-Est 5.0 cream off of the Amazon site to try and keep my estradiol level between 12-30 pg/mL. I have had the estradiol measured during lab test and so far I have gotten it up to 14.8 pg/mL from a low of 5. I will have another blood test in mid-December to see if the estradiol level has increased. The difficulty in using the cream is it is a trial and error process on how much to use to get the estradiol to the desired level.
I have fewer hot flashes and they are mild. I won't know if it helps my bones until I have another DEXA scan. I can't say I have experienced brain fog...maybe a senior moment. I still experienced muscle loss and fatigue, loss of libido and joint pain.
Not recommending it just telling what I have experienced.
