Diagnosed in June at 55

Brca1 family

psa 4.56

2 or 4 out of 12 cores positive

Gleason 4 + 3 by urologist

Surgeon said can be a 5 from slides hard to tell 5 from 4

Had Hormone therapy - Lupron

Now on IMRT since November

Decision for the amount of time on hormone therapy after I think depends on latest statistics at the time

he finishes radiation

Not going to have BRACHY

no scans done - Insurance wouldn't cover

are you looking for a reply from tall_allen?

you weren't diagnosed until June 2021, correct? So, when did you begin external radiation.....surely not November...you hadn't yet been diagnosed? what was your PSA before any treatment?

Insurance wouldn't cover bone scan or CT scan or MRI?

What was psa before current level. Quick jump? What was it before lupron, and hiw long lupron. Radiation with Lupron? How long? Mine jumped from 2.0 to 4.6 in 6 months. Than biopsy, 5 of 12 C.. they said aggressive type. After lupron ,6 months injection and radiation, psa to 0.1, T at 10, which to me was killer. Psa tests every 4 months for 1 year, psa stayed at 0.100. T still at 10. I did something urologist was not at all happy with, the Testosterone gone, basically, and related side effects, beat me up. Started back on Self inject. So far brought some energy back, sweats gone, Bloodwork monitored every 3 months, psa took jump to 0.20, T at 80p. Want to see if couple more things ho positive with whole body. And if course see where psa goes. Not suggested for everyone. Personal decision. If good outweighs bad, will continue, if bad gets bad, self inject will stop and hope did not make mistake.Best to you by all means.
