Psa keeps rising despite chemo

My dad is going docetaxel rechallenge, his blood work is good , his scans are showing lymph node reduction, bone Mets stable , clinically he has gained weight and looks doctor notes he is clinically doing well . The problem his psa keeps rising . In January it was 23 and now 198.. he goes for his 6 th session today for docetaxel . Is anybody experiencing this?

I would focus on the scans and any symptoms more than the PSA.

My PSA kept rising during docetaxel as well, but the scans showed improvement (shrinkage) in my mets. It's important to not focus on the PSA or you'll just add more stress in the situation and stress is not good for anybody IMHO.

Thank you ! Yes the doctor is not focusing on psa so much. She said as long as scans show improvement , blood work is good and clinically he is feeling well then not to focus on psa …

I would consider PSMA PET/CT as it may demonstrate lesions not seen by conventional imaging as was my experience.
