Hi all-
My dad just had his 4th infusion of jevtana today. (Carboplatin was approved today and he is getting that infusion tomorrow morning)
His PSA had been declining since his first infusion. Starting at 47.9 up until his third infusion, 34.8.
The PSA test from today showed that it has gone up to 43.5 -an increase of 11.4
A bone scan and CT scan taken last week showed increased activity in 2 spots (Dr says it could be a flare response....The PSA results from today were released after speaking to the Dr)
When we left the office today, the plan was to go ahead with the carboplatin+cabazitaxel combo and then gauge the response with a bone and CT scan scheduled after 3 of the combo infusions
I'm wondering if anyone has seen numbers rise and dip with jevtana, but still had some success? How effective carboplatin has been for some? Would it help the jevtana continue working? Or if this increase means jevtana has failed.
We were so hopeful for jevtana, as he did so well on taxotere (docetaxel) 😔
Thank you all. I really value all of your thoughts and experiences. 🤍
