Just a quick question, every now and then I'll be walking the dog or climbing the stairs at home and I get a severe pain in my top or right side of my leg, so bad I can't walk for a few mins then it goes away, does this have anything to do with my hormone treatment Zoladex perhaps weakening the muscles.
Cheers

Is it a muscle cramp? Fluids, electrolytes, and massage may help. Weather has been hot.
Hey chubby! I say hell yes . It is the adt eatng your muscles away . I had inexplicable random shooting muscle and joints pain after imrt and while on adt. The first years were the worst . Six years later and I’m in osteopenia with degenerative joint disease kicking my ass daily . Stay as active as you can .. IMO All treatments diminish us . Up to us to cope .The Docs know it . Good luck .
I went from a strong 233 down to a guant 165… drastic indeed. Now I’m at 195 . With osteopenia showing on the dexa . I’ve been on prolia now over 2 yrs. I find that it does not help the joints tendons or ligaments . DJD after antibiotic over use and a family heredity of it are my culprits. After two years on prolia I now suddenly have a fractured rib?? Hmm? Thought proilia prevents this? Just asked my Mo . He said” Prolia stops deterioration but Doesnt build back bone lost or help the joints”! Wonderful! Dammed if we do , you know the rest. Good luck 🍀
Thanks for the replies guys, it's not muscle cramp, sorry I should have been more specific, I've had it over a year, it's like my leg gives way and feels more like its going to detach.OK maybe I'll try drinking more fluids & electrolytes just in case.
I can't exercise at the moment due to having a Spinal fracture after radiotherapy.
To me it sounds more like the result of a 'pinched' nerve , affecting the muscle in your leg. It could be the result of ageing vertebrae putting some compression on a nerve coming from your spinal cord to travel down your leg. Sometimes these can be relieved by regularly doing appropriate exercises / stretches that gently manipulate your back and hips
I'm a know nothing but maybe a tendon? Also check for fracture? I would discuss with doctor. I can't exercise at the moment due to having had a few, am a little high and am just plain lazy. I also have a spinal fracture.
Friday Jan. 13, 2017 getting off couch. (!) Thought it was sprained and just suffered. Bone scan and CT scan end of Feb. because of suspected pca and then X-ray showed 50% T12 compression fracture. It doesn't seem to bother me now. L4 and L5 disks injured during Super Bowl party have bothered me for over 2 years. They beat me up because I'm a Tom Brady fan.
Super Bowl party? What the hell were you doing ? I once saw the Pats get smoked in the Super Bowl in Nola by da Bears . A friend gave us the tickets . Was Brady even there that day . Was that pre Brady . 1980s’s
I have the same problem as you, often when walking, my leg will just be so painful and it really is difficult to put weight on it, like it will collapse, after a while it passes.
There seems to be so many pains that we have to contend with, muscle pain, joint pain, back pain, it can all be accounted for.
As Lulu700 pointed out, it's part of the scene. I too now have to take bone strengthening medication, one of the side effects of that particular pill is joint pain, so the question is what's to blame ? Other side effects are your teeth falling out 😳😬😮.
It never ceases to amaze me, that when you try to explain to your Onc, the pains and side effects that you experience, they often appear to know of none of them.
I guess that's why we end up one here. I do take a pain killer at night sometimes, that often helps.
Thanks Phil, your right I did explain this to my Oncologist who didn't seem to have any answers or be too worried.I'll treat it like cramp for now & increase my mineral intake & see how it goes.
