Hi everyone,
Dad has been informed he may be potentially eligible for a trial involving cabozantinib and atezolizumab. Has anybody had any dealings with this and if so, did it seem effective?
Many thanks as always!

It had no effect as a monotherapy, but they are trying it as part of a combination. What are they combining it with?
I'm not too sure TA. We go to see the onc on Monday so I'll ask the question. He isn't strictly approved as yet, it's all dependent if his mets are extensive enough to qualify but seen as my dad rather stupidly has been dawdling for a couple of months even thought he is clearly resistant, she suspects he could be
Hi TA, I've just called in the recording I made, it's atezolizumab
immune checkpoint blockade. It looked good in early trials:
Hi Nal, I've been informed that it's atezolizumab
Thanks Nal! I've had a look online and from my basic interpretation, it looks as thought it has had some favourable response but I'm not the best with the technical jargon. Have you heard of such a trial and aware of the results thus far at all?
Hi. I spent one year on the cosmic 021 trial with Cabo and Atezo. It limited radiographic progression but it did not stop the psa from rising. It required Atezo infusions every 3 weeks. Cabo is a pretty brutal drug and required a dose reduction due to side effects.
My first trial was cabo. Was good for bone but not soft tissue. Ended trial when soft tissue showed progression. Agree with ScottfromSD side effects were tough and also had to reduce dose. Still suffering from neuropathy from the trial seven years ago. Hope it works for you as a combo therapy.
Discuss in detail side effects vs efficacy for your cancer with the people doing the trial. These drugs may have serious side effects:

Thanks Nal! 🙏
My father started the trial back in November 2020, and shrunk his liver and bone tumors. He got the liver tumors back in February 2020 and he passed away last week, but the Cabozantinib and Keytruda provided my mom and I some extra months with him.
