Stay hopeful. My brothers PSA jumped up from 50 to 105 after his first infusion of Keytruda. It is now dropped four times in a row.

So my PSA was 86 at the time of my 1st Keytruda infusion at the start of the 3rd infusion it was undetectable. My MO didn’t order a PSA before the second round, because she knows I get all worked up watching it rise, and like other therapies- it can take a couple cycles to turn things around. Stay strong

Hang on for the ride. It takes three points to have confidence in which way a new treatment is going. We saw the MO for the first time in over a year thanks to Covid restrictions. I was able to ask him the big question, what genetic markers/conditions made him eligible for Keytruda? The answer was "None! I had to plead with Merck for Keytruda approval." The researchers have no idea why my husband turned out to be a super responder. But part of being a super responder is that the energized immune system, after killing off the cancer, goes on to attack other suspicious spots and glands. His loss of adrenal and thyroid function can be controlled with medications, a trade-off he can live with.
