PET scan shows mets to lymph nodes

I had a PET scan that shows mets to lymph nodes. Two days later I had a CT guided pelvic lymph node needle biopsy, waiting for pathology. My left leg is swollen to 1/4 larger the right leg caused by a swollen node . I’m guessing once they determine what kind of cancer it is (PC? Lymphoma?) they’ll start chemo. FYI my PSA is undetectable.

Will chemo shrink the nodes that are causing the leg swelling? It is extremely painful and I’m limping all over the place.

UPDATE: The biopsy indicates it's not PC, it's bladder cancer caused by the 37 radiation treatments I had.

The biopsy , IHC, and genomics will tell them what kind of PC you have. Certain types don't express PSA. Some don't express an androgen receptor. Some are "anaplastic." They may be particularly vulnerable to a combination of a taxane chemo and carboplatin.

Looks like classic Lymphodema. I was first diagnosed with PCa after I went to the doc with a swelling in the right side of the groin. Doc concluded it was a hernia. That didnt seem right to me. Then came the blood sample - PSA=1000 and I was thrown into the PCA world. Had some mets to the lymph nodes in the vicinity of the prostate. During my treatment the swelling decreased and has now completely dissappeared. So mets in the lymph nodes can induce lymphodema - blocking the drainage system so to speak. So while you are tackling the PC you should use compression (tight stockings etc) on the swollen leg - and also massage.

Please get this checked out either by your General Medical Practioner or Emergency Room. It could be a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis). Hopefully not but best to be sure. I had recurrent DVTs before PSA diagnosis. The test to ask for is D-Dimmer. If you get it checked out and it is Lymphodema then the medics will be able to give you compression stockings to fit. Good luck.

I would go to emergency. There could be a blood clot. ASAP
