Hey Riverside! I still have a prostate . But Iā€™ve seen many a man here needing more treatments after a RP . If itā€™s coming back up you need to kick that sucker in the teeth . This pc is out to eat us alive if we allow it . The best hope is for us to push it off for as much time as possible . This makes the here and now that much more important to us . We are going to suffer . Please keep me up on the next step . I Donā€™t know the stats on this stuff but I donā€™t feel like itā€™s just you with a rising Psa after surgery .surgery was th3 best shot at a cure if contained .Once itā€™s out of the barn there really is no known cure . Itā€™s all palliative after stage#4 . I think that unfortunately you will need to fight another round with a greedy CS APC .. If pc is on the roll we must attack it . Some have fought this for decades . But Not without sufferage .. Good luck .

So what did your treatment consist of?

I got on a test adt drug( Tak-700) along with Lupron along with 8 weeks imrt to prostate . I did 50 mgs vitamin c ivs bi-weekly for my first year and a half .Along with a diet and nutrition plan from a naturalpathic . I did an orchiectomy 9-2017 allowing me to drop the lupron . Iā€™m one of only a few still taking the Tak -700 . The test failed to extend life for most . Itā€™s working for a few . Good luck

Wow - you really went that extra mile with the orchiectomy....Best to YOU, LULU!!

For me it was shots for life or an orch . I was chemically castrated already . Like trimming the dead wood from a tree . I know a lot of guys say they couldnā€™t do that . It was nothing but an attempt to prolong life .. āœŒļø

Good day, Riverside! If there is no evidence of progression on your scans, you should talk to your MO about switching from prednisone to dexamethasone while still on Zytiga. Most studies have shown this is effective a little over 50% of the time and gets several months extra on Zytiga.

My PSA started to double monthly after 18 months on Zytiga (first dose Feb 2019). Last autumn, after my scans did not show any progression in my bone mets and I was otherwise asymptomatic, I was able to switch over to dex while staying on Zytiga. My PSA is still dropping (Now 0.47 from 1.6)....so fingers crossed.

Hey Brother,

Started Abiraterone a year ago and by October PSA continued to rise. Swapped for Xtandi, and still PSA rosešŸ˜¢

Have had 4 Taxotere chemos with two more to go. Had 15 sessions in 2015. Fingers crossed that the two new 1cm pelvic lymph nodes resolve on the Axumin scan.

Another scan in April, and maybe restart Abiraterone with Dexamethasone this time or try BAT.

Fight on

Randy
