Hi folks, I have posted in a few other discussions on this board, but I wanted to find out if anyone has experienced or has an opinion about this trial:
I have gone the gamut, from Docetaxel to Xtandi to Cabazitaxel to Xofigo, with 2 clinical trials with PROSTVAC and ADZ6425 thrown in. I was diagnosed in May 2016 with PSA 16 and Gleason 9/10 and 4 bone mets. PSA slowly climbed all the up to 273 today, scans showed some increase but currently stable.
I wanted to do the CART-T trial, also at Sarah Canon Denver, but it seems very risky and only 5 people have done it, and 1 died! I can do that if I wait until April, but the other trial would start right away. They want me to decide by Monday, 1/11 and I am concerned that I will miss out on the CART-T trial. The REGN shows promise, decrease PSA by 50% and work on the Mets as well.
Thoughts, my friends?

All those trials require travel, and I am not willing to get on a plane every 3 weeks at this time. When Lu-177 comes to Denver, I will hop on that train!
The REGN5678 trial tests a drug which has only been studied with mice yet. So it is not clear if it works at all in humans and now this trial shall determine the maximum dose of this drug which can be tested in humans:
CAR-T on the other hand is already approved for different cancer types using the brand names Yescarta and Kymriah. Also there is a lot of literature about this therapy and it looks very promising. However, it has significant side effects maybe comparable to a chemo. In your case I would choose the CAR-T trial.
Regarding the patient that died:
"However, the patient missed follow-up appointments on the tenth and fourteenth days. During that time frame, the patient developed symptoms that subsequently lead to hospitalization. The patient died of hepatic failure at Day 19 post-treatment, Poseida said."
Thanks GP24, I appreciate your advise here. All along I was most interested in the Cart-T trial and felt pressured by the trial doc Falchook to fulfill his numbers on Regn. I am going to tell him tomorrow to put me on waiting list for Cart-T for April. I understand that it is risky, but I am pretty healthy and have always followed Doctors orders. My rebel days are over, but I do have a say in my treatment!
If your afraid of missing out on getting on the trial, then consider one of my methods for making decisions. I call it: three green lights. If you really want do do something and can think of three good reasons (three green lights) for doing it, then just go for it. 💚💚💚 😎 DD.
