Dexamethasone Shortage!

My regular pharmacy could not supply my dex refill. They said there was a manufacturers shortage. I finally found a CVS store that had stock to fill a 30 day script. My MO concurred with me that it’s due to dex being used in large doses to mitigate Covid symptoms.

We probably have 6 months more of this.

It's so so shameful that our cultish political behavior in the US has led to our being the global leader in Covid-19 deaths. With our main compensation being two other authoritarian regimes, Russia and Brazil.

Here are the state by state numbers, notice the high per capita concentration in red cult plains states where the low population concentration should predict the opposite.

North Dakota — 11,600 per 100,000 population

Population: 762,062 residents

South Dakota — 10,365 per 100,000

Population: 884,659

Wisconsin — 8,164 per 100,000

Population: 5.8 million

Iowa — 8,143 per 100,000

Population: 3.2 million

Nebraska — 7,818 per 100,000

Population: 1.9 million

Utah — 7,417 per 100,000

Rhode Island — 7,102 per 100,000

Population: 1.1 million

Idaho — 6,955 per 100,000

Population: 1.8 million

Montana — 6,939 per 100,000

Wyoming — 6,922 per 100,000

Be responsible to others and wear your masks folks. It's not a political statement.

It is responsible behavior.

Yes.

The Sturgis bike rally, which the Repub governor went out of his way to promote, was devastating.

"“We estimate that over 250,000 of the reported cases between August 2 and September 2 are due to the Sturgis Rally,” one of the study authors, Andrew Friedson, an associate professor of economics at the University of Colorado Denver shared on Twitter. “Roughly 19 percent of the national cases during this timeframe.”

The co-authors estimate that the fallout from the rally could rise to $12 billion in health care costs."

There is a peer reviewed study somewhere that details the calculation of those numbers.

That is a lot of Dexamethasone.

On the other hand, in Hawaii, where the Democratic governor has not politicized the issue, makes sure that people who violate their Covid-19 related laws face jail time, isn't using hardly any Dexamethasone.

If only people would believe in and follow the science, like they have done in Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and even China.

Their hospitals, health systems, public health, and economies have been hardly touched by Covid. At least in comparison to ours.

For us, we have insufficient critical care nurses, icu beds, ppe, tests, remdesivere, vaccine doses and Dexamethasone, unless that is you are one of the politicians who caused and who continues to exacerbate the problem.

Then you and your family have all you want and need.

Thanks for the typical left wingnut comparison of covid-19 deaths and cases.Paragraph 1 of your silly response refers to deaths and then you go on to numbers of cases without making the distinction.

Hate is a terrible thing. Give it up and act accordingly.

Bigdon, love your name. Lol

Please take this to private messaging. Stick to healthcare in the public forum here please.

And in private please explain the hate. If I inadvertently expressed anything close to that emotion, I want to avoid that in the future.

Are you sure the hate you see isn't coming from self projection? Something to consider.

Ad hominem attacks and name calling have no place here in the public forums.

Thank you in advance.

If you find any untrue facts in my post, I encourage you to correct them. No need for name calling or sniggering. Ohh.. a little good humor sniggering, but only if it's deserved. LOL

That's what makes this forum so helpful to others.

I fail to see that any further discussion with someone who calls 73 million people cultists and disingenuously presents information in a way to mislead the readers would be helpful to the serious matters presented and discussed on this forum. Maybe your speculation on covid- 19 deaths should have included the tens of thousands of deaths in blue state nursing homes. You are a real lightweight in this arena. If you want to be taken seriously, make arguments that do not parrot the left wing haters on CNN and MSNBC.

And, find the right forum for your Hate.

1. You neglected to capitalize "HATE"

2. I encourage you to visit:

"Straw man argument - Wikipedia" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Str...

And perhaps also do a search on Dunning Krueger

3. "What is a cult? A cult is a group or movement held together by a shared commitment to a charismatic leader or ideology. It has a belief system that has the answers to all of life’s questions and offers a special solution to be gained only by following the leader’s rules. It requires a high level of commitment from at least some of the members."

4. See also

"Psychological projection is a defense mechanism in which the ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves by attributing them to others.[1] For example, a bully may project their own feelings of vulnerability onto the target. It incorporates blame shifting and can manifest as shame dumping."

"Psychological projection - Wikipedia" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psy...

5. Again, did I post anything factually incorrect. Or even any alternative facts.

"Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts." Daniel Patrick Moynihan (famous and we'll respected "libtard"

6. It occurs to me that BigDon might be your biker name and that I may have triggered you by my disrespectful reference to your annual pilgrimage to Sturgis.

If so I apologise for the offense. And even if not my apologies for triggering your anger.

Unfortunately facts are facts.

7. Yes of course. Obviously I am I lightweight. But I do what I can with what God has given me. Most people think I do pretty well.

And no doubt you are also doing the best with what God has given you BigDon

"PolitiFact recently documented in its annual "Lie of the Year" designation. The nonpartisan group gave its 2020 "award" to "coronavirus downplay and denial"— in which it said Trump had been the conductor of the "symphony of counter narrative" about the virus."

This is mockery. Mockery and disrespect is what is most associated with libtards like me. We simply have no respect for your critical thinking capabilities.

The hate, anger and threats of violence are pretty much a Trumper exclusive.

Libtards like me just don't harbor that hate and anger.

Sorry to disappoint.

Oops, you were right I didn't make the distinction between diagnosis and death.

Just made the correction. Thank you.

But everything I said pretty much stands.

And in fact because of weaker levels of rural health care, often accompanied with state suppression of diagnosis data, reported death rate discrepancies are probably greater, not lesser in those red rural states.

Just the facts ma'am.

Covid 19 & dexamethasone & mask wearing?

They are all sort of linked to one of the biggest health crisis the US has faced in the last hundred years.

Oh.... That I implied it has been proven to have been avoidable by following the science. Is that your complaint?

Sigh..

1. Nice to hear you are one of the responsible good guys.

2. "And please stop with the finger pointing, the nonstop protesting didn't spread covid but a biker gathering did."

The cult based, hatefull social media posts and the death threats, and militia kidnapping conspiracies certainly had an effect.

Just saw a statistic that in a period of months over 130 state health officials have resigned or been fired.

These two things are linked.

3. Being required to be required to wear shoes, a shirt, and a mask is not an abridgement of freedom.

This is so, despite contrary opinion within the membership of certain unnamed groups that many consider to have attributes commonly associated with those of cults.

Sheesh (humorous sniggering)

You really should take this to private message.

1. But yeah, psychology 101, but mostly what you are seeing is my polymath side.

2. I'm definitely not in touch with my "inner self". Do you honestly see any touchy feely in me? That's pretty much not part of my narrative among those who know me. It's actually a side of me I would like to work on.

I'm mostly the mission oriented guy with low tolerance for weakness, non-performance, excuses or fools. Apparently that part of me must not come out online.

But that makes no difference. None of this off topic banter upon which you insist is important if you think about it. Is it?

So why do you insist on it. What inner demons are driving you to attempt bully me?

I just looked and the only drug shortage reported by the FDA is dex injection (not the oral form). This article basically states the same thing. I'd wager that CVS has supply chain issues and it may not have anything to do with COVID.

Dear Xpo1

Hmmm seems like I may have inadvertently rattled you a bit much.

I am going to give you a few days to get it out of your system then block you for a few months.

You are welcome to proclaim to one and all you have slain the beast.

I must point out if your issue happens to continued employment and healthcare until you reach medicare and beyond, the Trump crowd of which you are a part of doesn't have your back.

You may want to revisit and rethink that portion of your current belief system. Just saying.

Good luck

One solution is to go on half rations for a while and concurrently double your prescription.

Then you can avoid being suddenly forced to unexpectedly go cold turkey.

Unfortunately this is going to get worse before it gets better.

You may have already filled your last prescription for a while.

Hello 6357. Yes a similar situation here in the UK regarding the steroid, Dexamethasone, My hubby finds it a helpful med now that he has no further treatment options left. Alongside a PPI (stomach protector), he seems to find it helpful with the nausea he experiences, I feel it gives him a little energy boost, too. When his recent repeat prescription was missing half the expected amount of Dexamethasone, I queried it, to be informed that it was a ‘critical drug”. No doubt it is being kept back for Civid treatment. I explained my hubby’s position and that his oncologist had agreed continuation of the drug for as long as needed. The complete dose has now been received. Hope the present sudden blockade of delivery lorries into our ports due to the highly infective new variant Covid doesn’t skupper this sgreement, or affect any other critical drugs for that matter! Here’s hoping you can continue to obtain for your needs too,
