Have your iron level checked. I it is normal, check with a cardiologist.
Good advice...by Magnus. Check your serum Iron level and Serum Ferritin level. If low, you might need Iron supplements.
Iron level Ferritin is 39, total iron is 316, iron capacity is 316 , % saturation is 24. All on the low side. In the organs I take is a large amount of iron along with food and multiple vit and minerals supplement should be enough . Doctor prescribed Flintstones Vitamin and minerals that caused extreme constipation. Reason for doing the organ supplements. They are desiccated liver, pancreas and bone marrow.
Iron is probably not getting absorbed. If you add high dose of Vitamin C in form of lemonade or orange juice..you can increase iron absorption significanly. Or You can take Vit C tabs 500 mg 2 tabs a day.
Have some "real" liver and onions. Pills sometimes just won't do the trick. Or visit a high elevation area for a while and your body should compensate and grow more to move lighter air through your blood.
Unfortunately, the radiopharmaceuticals can deplete the red blood cell-producing bone marrow. There is no quick fix. Those blood-producing cells may recover over time. You can ask your oncologist if erythropoietin might temporarily reverse the anemia. It stimulates what is left, but they may already be maxed out.
I forgot to mention that I had both hips replaced seven years ago. Less bone area to produce red blood cells? Thanks TA.
Could be. Unfortunately, testosterone stimulates regrowth of those cells and you can't use it - you may just have to wait it out.
My red blood cells and hemoglobin were low after my radiation. My Oncologist said my mild anemia was “normal” and discouraged iron supplements. Have been on ADT vacation for 18 months, and my levels have finally recovered to low normal. Be patient
I’ve had good success with iron supplements, but you need to have your iron (Ferritin) levels checked when taking them. Like anything, too much is not a good thing.

Eating an iron-rich diet can increase your body’s production of RBCs. Iron-rich foods include:
red meat, such as beef
organ meat, such as kidney and liver
dark, leafy, green vegetables, such as spinach and kale
dried fruits, such as prunes and raisins
beans
legumes
egg yolks
And don't forget:
Chocolate chip ice cream (two scoops)....
