My PSA three years post surgery is still undetectable. I am staying the course with my regimen and have added fenbendazole and doxycycline.

Why add anything if what you are taking is working?

True, just fear of cancer gaining resistance.

My MO always says dont mess with what is working...first thing he says when he sees any change in PSA...did I take anything or do anything different...All the best in what you choose to do!

That's pretty serious medication to take for no reason.

Yes, why change anything if current regimen is not hurting anything.

Because you don't know the long-term effects of fenbendazole and doxycycline.

True, thanks for the input.

Be careful about 'toxicity' from some forms of supplementation. Drug interactions should be checked.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

To be fair, I take supplements, but I'm not sitting where you are - looking good - congrats !

I understand the advice to not fix what appears to not be broken, but one must consider the 5-year failure rate of RP for a Gleason 4+3. It is wonderful news that you have survived 3 years without biochemical recurrence, but the past does not predict the future. I have known men who were told to not worry because they were cured, and those men did nothing & later discovered that they were not cured. It seems to me that it is prudent to hedge your bets.

I'm not saying that you should be on fenbendazole and doxycycline, necessarily, but I think you are quite correct in being proactive.

Best for the next two - and the five after that (LOL), -Patrick

Thanks, My thoughts precisely! My pathology after surgery was gleason 4+4 tertiary 5 stage T3a. Considering the poor prognosis of high gleason prostate cancer I am hedging my bets.

Am in a similar position and like you hedging my bets. 'only a 3+4' with tertiary 5, established EPE and established extracapsular PNI as well.

5 1/2 years recurrance free😊, but did opt for ART as belt and braces.

Have dipped in and out of a range of supplements as well as med(ish) diet.

Also lots of hard road and mountain biking. I would do this anyway however supposed to be beneficial for recurrance risk reduction.

Fresh turmeric root with Indian long pepper is a favourite added to many dishes along with olive oil.

I have been cautioned about consuming Turmeric out of interaction concerns. My game is to stay true to the assigned regimen provided it is adequately proven to me. Supplements may have a place, but I would use them only after discussion with my provider. Some times the seemingly benign substance can be toxic in combination with other elements. We pay the money so trust the science until there is contrary evidence.

Look at my supplement list under my post "two years since surgery". I also do a lot of exercise on my concept 2 rowing machine. I do two forty five minute sessions daily and I do a 80-100 mile ride on my recumbent bike on the week ends. Congrats on over five years BCR free!

I am 3+4 also. No surgery, nothing. I have been taking Fenbendazole for over 8 months. After 3 months PSA went from 12 down to 5 and in the last 4 months has risen by .5 per month. I decided to discontinue use for 2 months and see. In your case I sure wouldn't take it.

Sorry, I see that you were 4+4.

I have eaten fresh organic tumeric each day and take a tumeric supplement “Meriva’too.Five years of this . Over four in remission. Will it last forever? Nothing does. It’s all about the living in the present ..

My neighbor has some kind of cyclonic leaf blower. EVERY DAY he blows dried cat and dog poop into the air. And who knows what else. I am breathing unknown supplements every day. My car is covered in a layer of fine crap and my solar system is struggling. But I seem to be doing okay. So everyone may want to consider an oil essence diffuser of dried cat and dog poop. Who knows.

Attention change in order:

----------------------------------

Minus 1 "cyclonic" leaf blower.

Plus 1 Sponge Bob the reefer blower (who does it all) .
