Just an update on my Dad, he had is first treatment yesterday and last night his nurse called to let him know his PSA results came in! He went from 618 in May 2020 to 10.5 as of yesterday so we were excited that Hormone treatment is working. He goes for his Pegfilgrastim this afternoon is it inevitable he will have the joint and bone pain? What is everyone experience who has had it?

Gday, for me, Filgrastim was prescribed as my neutrophils and white blood cell counts were really low after I had 6 shots of Docetaxel. The way it was explained to me was, the Filgrastim helps the bone marrow produce more white blood cells. This causes an increase in the pressure within the large bones and results in bone pain. I had an injection of Filgrastim everyday for five days, and while it was uncomfortable, it did raise my blood count and made me feel much better, cheers 😎 DD.

In my case ,yes the bone and joint pain will be there, lots of side effects but all can be tolerable. I take Ostobiflex for the joints, morphine for the bone pain. Lots of water and eat everything that tastes good. 4 years and counting, fighting the monster 🙏🙏🙏

I did not know, until I was through with my 8 cycles of chemo, that Claritin helps with the bone pain. Many here have mentioned it. It's over the counter, so a cheaper generic may work as well. I'm not prescribing. Check with doctor if you have doubts. Dad may have an initial PSA and Alkaline Phosphatase "flair". Normally, he will start feeling like he has flu-like symptoms on third day. This will last about a week, and he will start feeling better, and then its time for next cycle. The symptoms may get a little worse each cycle. But when you're done, you're done! Celebration time. Go Napoli!
