Video on Glutathione as it pertains to Covid and the immune system, since many of us are immunocompromised.

vashiva.com/dr-shiva-live-b...

The video is about an hour, just get to minute 35 where he explains glutathione deficiency.

continualg.com is a different form of glutathione that is highly bio available. Its a bit expensive (Nalakrats can afford it along with his modified citrus pectin...), but may be OK to have in stock if you think you have been exposed to Covid.

Just trying to contribute.

Greetings All. New to advanced PC, new to this blog. I am interested in any natural option to health and beat this damn cancer down. SO take a look at cold showers to increase glutathione. No expense; just caution if any cardiac issues!

I take an Irish cold shower-- one minute of cold water at the end... really helped me get ready for anticipated shocks of treatment.

Sounds just like my scottish one!!but proven to increase glutathione production.

Maybe the Scotts and Irish collaborated on it? Gives me more motivation to do it...! It's planned discomfort, but feels good when it's over!

Seebs,

Your post suggests this therapy will reduce the probability of COVID-19. For any man who is on ADT, should recognize that an Italian medical study published a couple of months ago showed the protective effects of ADT. Of the 2500 subjects in the study Who had prostate cancer and were receiving ADT, only four subjects contracted COVID-19. They had very mild cases. In American hospitals, ADT drugs are being given to COVID-19 patients.

The guy in the video was saying that most all the bad Covid cases had low glutathione. It wasn't about Prostate cancer. Just trying to add another tool to the box. I read the Italian study, I hope it works for me if/when I contract Covid.

Why I don't use GSH. It is both an antioxidant and a prooxidant. As an antioxidant it would help cancer cells survive, therefore, it is the prooxidant function we need to enlist. Finding that balance is not simple.

JOURNAL OF CELL BIOLOGY Review|June 18 2018

Glutathione metabolism in cancer progression and treatment resistance

Glutathione (GSH) is the most abundant antioxidant found in living organisms and has multiple functions, most of which maintain cellular redox homeostasis. GSH preserves sufficient levels of cysteine and detoxifies xenobiotics while also conferring therapeutic resistance to cancer cells. However, GSH metabolism plays both beneficial and pathogenic roles in a variety of malignancies. It is crucial to the removal and detoxification of carcinogens, and alterations in this pathway can have a profound effect on cell survival. Excess GSH promotes tumor progression, where elevated levels correlate with increased metastasis. In this review, we discuss recent studies that focus on deciphering the role of GSH in tumor initiation and progression as well as mechanisms underlying how GSH imparts treatment resistance to growing cancers. Targeting GSH synthesis/utilization therefore represents a potential means of rendering tumor cells more susceptible to different treatment options such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

What you write is what we've lived by for well over a decade now, though we are attempting to switch things ups. How do you manage your intake of glutathione. From reading this, would you just moderated it. Have you tested for the levels. I've worked at this for so long not, and at my age, I'm more exasperated. We with our oncologists .. mainly WE are fighting a late stage cancer and have been for over 13 years. That's pretty remarkable. Our docs are our allies. But when it comes to supplements etc.. they really don't know..

Hi Bluebird,This GSH business is very complex, as appears everything else with this disease! I suppose, should you want to measure it, it would be possible, but because GSH is unstable, I really don't know how useful such a measurement would be. Your health insurance might not pay for the test which is probably expensive. Also, you should realize that one of the reasons we at HealthUnlocked have so much discussion regarding the topic of supplements is that something may work for one person but not for another. There are pricey so-called stabilized versions of GSH on the market. You might try one of them for a few months to see what, if any, effect it has. You're quite correct in saying that MO won't "prescribe" them. For that you will need to see a Functional Medicine specialist. Good health for the new year.

It is way over my head. Yes. I try to steer clear when that happens as a signal to go in another direction that I can somewhat understand. As funky as this sounds there is a patch that has an electron/magnet component that stimulates glutathione. I'm just looking at it since it was suggested to me.

We have a somewhat empty table at the moment. I'm in the process of a new protocol to add to the contents on the table. The tried a true curcumin- plus the other supplements we had been taking. I've just added boswellia, and going to add chaga powder.

I have nothing at the moment except beginning again after a serious and lengthy bout of struggle. Thank YOU..

please if you will shed some light on this controversy..

we didn't touch glutathione because it was considered contraindicated for prostate cancer...

we are in a rough place right now and I am not about to give up...

we have an opportunity to shift protocols...

what's the hype on glutathione and being contraindicated...

if you are taking it..!!! that sounds hopeful...

I believe my husband has one of those genes that doesn't allow him to detox easily.

he's had high homocysteine levels years ago, so they thought he had that MTHRF, though never ID'd.

We've actually spent hundreds of thousands on alternative care throughout these years and we are DONE.. We could write a book for all we've done and been through...

If you can shed light I would be grateful. just your opinion, of course.. thanks

I know much more than prior to reading. I will take this apart and study it. I so thank you ... for your beautiful gift of explaining this to me. Thank You... It will take a little time to get back to a response since we are in a process at the moment of putting a few things in place within a fluid situation.

We've had many gifts recently. One is my husband has found something that has relieved the pain that was taking him down. That is a gift.. Thank you Sir Nalakrats :)
