COVID exposed, must go...

Down here in Los Cabos (Baja, Mexico), you know, at the beach. In the sun. Last Saturday one lady returned from Oklahoma and came to our little, very carefully distanced fish-taco cookout. Just a few neighbors around the pool. An old friend, she came up close to talk to me. No mask. I thought "This is not right."

Yesterday she called that she just received a positive PCR COVID-19 test result. Her mother had had COVID in Oklahoma, now revealed. OH Sh*-T!

Now my wife and I are immediately flying back to our US home in Oregon. Double masks. (Medical plus M95). We cannot risk going through it here in Mexico with our risk factors and age. Farewell warm sunshine. Hope to see you after the vaccine.

Hi Paul,

I’m so sorry to hear this. We’re orthodox isolationists so are friends call us extreme, and we haven’t seen them since march, but that is our chosen routine. See no one and go no place except the market and post office once a week when those places are sparsely populated.

Take care, my friend

Jeff

Sorry that this happened. We love Cabo and are chomping at the bit to go there as soon as we can.

I am so thankful that vaccines are finally being rolled out. The beginning of the end of the darkest period for humanity that has occurred in my life?

Hope all is well.

The country in a nutshell. I hope it was all for naught but better to be safe, I would be doing the same thing. Safe travels.

I hope that you and your family remain healthy. These are scary times. There's a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a vaccine but that tunnel is a gauntlet of disease and death. I stay at home. No traveling. No gym, no casino, no eating in restaurants and I even cut my own hair. All this and prostate cancer too.

I didn't think I would ever need another haircut after chemo. Right now I look like a bush man.

Mateo, Sorry you have to Quarantine and lease the Sun. These are some of the things I do to avoid to Fight Covid if I am exposed. I Take Nitric Oxide Booster by Snap Inc (When my brother started on it when his PCa was doubling every 2 months after getting off of Xtandi because of side effects his PSA dropped from 6.2 to 1.8 in 4 months no longer doubling!!!). I also take 10,000 IU vitamin D per day to get 25 OH Vitamin D in my Blood of 100ng/ml. Also, Vitamin C 6000 mg/d, Brown Seaweed 3 pills /d and Lactoferrin 3 pills/day and Zinc 50Mg/d from all from Swanson , Inc. Also my Casodex 150mg/d and Avodart & Proscar reduces TMPRSS2, the bad actor that lets COVID into our cells to kill them and us.Best and pray for your health. Pedro

Good call. You certainly don't want to get sick and have to sneak across the Rio Grande. I think vaccination for us is very close. I do have to expose myself this Christmas. That bothers me a little. It bothers the elves a whole lot.

Yeah maybe. Only can be known in retrospect. So had to make A call. My wife 68 has asthma. I’m 71 with PC and high BP. So the stakes are high. Our MexicoBeach paradise will be there next Spring, but only if we are too.

Other thing is I developed pain on walking in my left thigh. Went from doing ten miles a day to being doubled over in pain after 50 to 100 yards. I think it is radiation damage to my pelvic nerve plexus from PLN RT a year ago. Very concerned as that can be permanent. Really change my lifestyle and plans! So I’m getting an MRI and neurologist consult ASAP. Radiation, the gift that keeps on giving. 😆

For radiation induced limbo-sacral plexopathy the only things that have been shown to be beneficial are pentoxifylline (Trental) 400 mg delayed release 3 times per day with vitamin E 1000 IU daily. This must be continued for at least three years to prevent relapse. Randomized, placebo-controlled trial of combined pentoxifylline and tocopherol for regr superficial radiation-induced fibrosis (Article)

Delanian, S., Porcher, R., Balla-Mekias,

Purpose: Radiation-induced fibrosis (RIF) is a rare morbid complication of radiotherapy, without an established method of manageme combination of pentoxifylline (PTX) and alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E; Vit E) was recently prompted by the good results of a clinical tria The present double-blind, placebo-controlled, monocentric study was designed to assess the efficacy of this combination in treating R and Methods: Twenty-four eligible women with 29 RIF areas involving the skin and underlying tissues were enrolled from December patients, previously irradiated for breast cancer, were randomly assigned to four balanced treatment groups: (A) 800 mg/d of PTX and PTX plus placebo; (C) placebo plus Vit E; and (D) placebo-placebo. The main end point measure was the relative regression of measur months of treatment. Assessment was completed by depth (with ultrasonography) and associated symptom measures. Results: Twent RIF areas were analyzed at 6 months. Mean RIF surface regression was significant with combined PTX/Vit E versus double placebo (60 P = .038). The median slope for the speed of RIF surface area and volume regression was significantly higher for group A than groups treatments were well tolerated. Conclusion: Six months' treatment of combined PTX/Vit E can significantly reduce superficial RIF.
