Update to Chemo .. Now complete

I'm updating from my last post about the Chemo. I had a set back with the Labs before the 5'th infusion. PSA count went up 15 points, back up to ~60. That's still a small PSA count.

And still I have to say my attitude tanked for about 2 days. I was so excited and anticipating that my PSA would read close to or at zero that this result wiped me out. Thank goodness for the counselor at PAMF, my family and friends who picked this old man's attitude up and set it right! My friends "EXPECTATIONS" set us up for almost all disappointment in life. So now daily I work to mentally have no expectation of cure, or no cure, so that whatever happens is just what happens.

One thing to note is that somehow an errant prescription for Prednisone (wasn't needed) had me on this drug until this last infusion. I had 2.5 weeks to clear the Prednisone, and for the first time I didn't bruise at all. The kind of zinger Taxotere can put in your veins that shows up like a scar didn't show up. That has happened every other time. So now I am taking only vitamins and ibuprofen for the first time in 8 years.

The Last lab had the PSA decreased again, but only 1 point. The last infusion was a week ago yesterday. My next labs will be about mid-June. I will update you all on my crazy ride after I have those results. Per the Oncologist we will hold off on any other treatment as long as the PSA stays put, or decreases.

I will take this time to heal, to regain energies I haven't seen in 8 years, and maybe even some body hair, and some adult funk smell. BTW that Avatar picture was when I could grow facial hair.

Peace and Love,

Bees

Off topic but I'm Italian and we discuss what we are going to eat for our next meal while eating our current meal 🍝🙂

So the truth is out. You are Greek. No wonder, after reading your replies, so many of us have just been shrugging our shoulders and saying "I don't know. It's Greek to me."

I'm a rare Greek (smart that is).... I use paper plates.... Only problem, they sort of wilt in the dishwasher but hang them on the laundry line and before you know it they're like new again.... Colors fade abit but what the hell, covered with food our company never notices... OPA!!!

So now I know where the expression "Beware of j-o-h-n bearing paper plates covered with food" came from. I hope there isn't a horse in the story.

How come the octopus is $9 more than the squid? I was raised in South Dakota ... steak and potatoes. Where is the chocolate chip ice cream? This all smells fishy to me. Enjoy.

More time to cook the octopus cause it keeps turning off the gas.....I was raised in the South Bronx..... very little steak... lots of potatoes......thanks for reminding me....

Chocolate chip ice cream (two scoops).... Bon Appetit....

I also learned that lesson but it may be unlearned at any point on this journey. My family picked up on it last time and shut it down with a lovely gesture almost immediately. Good luck on those June tests.
