Oh forgot to say I’m doing well 6 months in on Abiraterone/ prednisone meds, and 9 months Lupron. Got to get through this Ablation today. Supposed to be outpatient and home later. Maybe overnight .
I had one 8 years ago. It was a walk in the park compared to some cancer treatments I've had. More importantly, since that day to this I have only had ONE at episode, (and that was due to severe septic shock 4 years ago). You'll be fine and it was the best decision I ever made!
I wish you the very best with your Ablation today and for your successful recovery as time moves you down the road.
I have not had any Cath Ablations over the years, but I have had 3-bypass open heart procedure and several heart caths ( one with a stent ). The anesthesia took care of any anxiety I had about any of my heart procedures. I wish the same for you.
Doug, you need to complete the Ablation today so you can rejoin me in taking abiraterone and prednisone tomorrow.
Zytiga drove it to the roof (average was about 190/105) for a couple of months. My cardiologist played with my medicine for a month and it is now 135/80. Much better.
Thxs. My 2nd Ablation. 1st was April 2015 Cryoablation. It didn’t last long. I know blood pressure spikes with Abiraterone/prednisone combo. Last BP read 2 days ago was 130/90 not bad considering AFIB HR is all over the charts.
All my best wishes for success today! Are you having heart problems emanating from ADT? My husband is about to start ADT, but he has had 2 stents and is on babyaspirine, a statin and metoprolol. I have read that ADT can make this worse?
Does he need to change medicines? Sorry about writing my own worries and all the best to you!
I had a SCA cardiac arrest May 2011. I’m on my 2nd ICD/pacemaker implant. Yes I’m in AFIB again. Not related to ADT abiraterone prednisone and Lupron. Only thing these Med can cause I believe is long QTc rhythm issues. Not my problem.
Good luck in your recovery. I had a-fib ablation surgery the last week of February. Everything went fine. Keep your magnesium levels healthy if they aren't already.
Yes everybody, my RF Cath ablation procedure went well all 5 hours of sleeping through it with breathing tube and way to many electrodes and pads on my body.
Yes, I'm in NSR normal Sinus Rhythm that's good news and had 3 cath incision sites left and right side groin upper thigh and an attempt at my neck vein. Still some pain at incision sites and did have a vein bleed yesterday when i got home from Cardiac observation about 09:30. It takes about 3 days for cath incision sites to heal and seal and I'm on 'home walking' limits for 10 days. Oh no no exercising no lifting > 10#'s for 1o days.
I am doing well this morning, neck incision try is feeling better, sore throat from breathing tube 5 hrs worth is subsiding, a little chloroseptic helps.
If you want a major picture or description of my fav heart hospitals RN's, staff, assistants in action on the 5th floor Cardiac patient care, I've got it. No pix's just memories. One fourth (1/4th) of the huge cardiac floor is dedicated cordoned off for COVID-19 Cardiac/Pulmonary critically ill hurting peoples, I had no intentions of being one there, hoping and praying for rapid recovery from this nasty, nasty Virus.
Like I said, all my RN's, PCA's, assistants were wonderful and were so overworked but still caring.
