Neuropathy- consider acupuncture

I had pretty significant neuropathy in my feet after Taxotere. Nothing was really working, tried some supplements that one PA recommended to no avail. I finally tried acupuncture on a recommendation- it took about 4 or 5 visits, but it started getting better. Pretty much gone now. It could of been a coincidence, but I thought I’d mention it in case someone on this group is searching for something that might help.

Can you specify the points were the needles were put? If one gets a different practitioner he will not know that.

Hi GP - I’ll send an email to the doctor to ask, I don’t know the names of the points- I’m not real familiar with acupuncture. She put quite a few in each foot and also my legs. I’ll follow up when I have more information

Yes. I need to know where to stab myself with needles. Seriously, thanks for the info. I will bring this up with my dr. after this covid-19 madness is done. Two and a half years of this sucks. It was really bad for a year or so. Feet felt really icy and body could not handle coldness at all. The feet are somewhat better now. Body is definitely better. Friend who recently had chemo gets really cold easily. Thinking the effects of chemo take a while to disappear.

I had not ever had acupuncture before and I had thought of it as a bit hokey, but I think it works. The needles did not really hurt much and it takes awhile to notice anything- but the neuropathy is now pretty much gone from my feet. I’ve canceled my appointments for the next stretch- but plan to start again when I can - hope it works for you too!
