You can use any online private lab which do not require prescription. Cost is normally between $20 to $50 depending on lab and location .

How do I connect with this on line service as I am delaying any contact with the public or clinics

I now test monthly at quest to watch for an end to my @vacation”. I too would like to test online given the close proximity I’d be to others potentially there for the coronavirus. Any info or link to guide me?

PSA Lab Tests are only $15 with Medicare Advantage at SonoraQuest or LabCorps.

Why do you want monthly tests? What treatment decision might it affect?

At this point I am not sure what further treatments I will have. My next Onocolgist apt is not until April 29 th . At least if the PSA is spiking up I could treat it sooner than later .

If you are on Lupron and PSA has doubled in nine months, doesn't that tell you something?

Yes, it tells me I think that the Lupron is no longer working . If it’s not than , should I wait until April 29 th which is my next Onocolgist appointment to address it ?

Yes, you will get an earlier warning regarding whatever is brewing.

What has it doubled to? If the number is still under 2, it's standard practice to wait. Most people do something after 2 or more doublings above 2.

I waited until 26, then it dropped to .1 after a month of Zytiga, then to undetectable for 18 months.

You might consider adding casodex to the Lupron.

At your next MO appointment, tell that you are concerned and you would like to track monthly and ask him to order. I would order T also. (I have had over 120 PSA tests since 2004 and everyone has testosterone tests included.) With that said, if your PSA is in fact rising while on Lupron, then I would think that monthly tests are in order to get a handle on treatment.

Disclaimer: I do not subscribe to the US Preventative Taskforce recommendations. Unless the make up has changed recently, there has never been a Prostate Cancer specific person included. Most are MS and PhD in public health and statistical analysis.

At my follow up which is on a monthly basis, they do a monthly blood test & include a PSA. I do remind them each time though. There are online labs where the PSA test can be ordered by you. They include Request A Test & Private MD labs. I have ordered the PSA & other tests there myself. You pay for them though but the cost is for the most part, is reasonable

Where do you go to get the draw?

LabCorp or Quest is where I have gone in the past after ordering & paying online. Since a monthly PSA test in included, they do it at the cancer center where my monthly appts are scheduled so I have not had to order it myself since I have been going there.

If PSA tests are ordered by an MD - is there any frequency rate that will trigger questioning the need by Medicare? I sort of average every 2 months since I have different MD's ordering them before meeting with them every 3 months.

You can save money by going to New Century Labs website and order the test. Then take the order to any Quest lab for the draw and results will be emailed to you. Same lab but much cheaper than Quest directly.
