Alk Phos Flare?

Similar to how PSA can go up before it goes down as dying cancer cells release PSA in response to treatment, can the same phenomenon happen with Alk Phos in response to radiation to bone lesions? Thank you everyone.

YES. Absolutely ! My initial ALP at time of diagnosis was 191...after one week being on Casodex , ALP skyrocketed to 490...after that ALP fell like a rock and kept going down for next 8 months ...ending up at 59. Now it hovers between 60 and 70.

Yes. Clearly if you are reading total Alk Phos levels you need to be monitoring your lever function tests, if not liver Alk Phos.
