Does having brain mets exclude a person from clinical trials?

Diagnosed 17 months ago with metastatic PC. Now mets in the spine (all vertebras), ribs, proximal femurs, one (iliac) lymph node, and as of last 2 months several in the brain (treated with EBRT). Already had many treatments and the cancer seems to be resistant to everything - Lupron (painful joints), 177Lu, 225Ac, docetaxel (anemia), Xtandi for 6 weeks. Just started immunotherapy (Keytruda) yesterday, but what is left?

Is it in the brain, or on the crainium pressing against the brain? If not in the soft tissue of the brain, you might be able to get Xofigo. Which clinical trials are you looking at?

As of the last two months, 5 small ones in the brain, in addition to several in the skull.

We don't have a grasp of the various clinical trials that are out there.

Blood labs are not the strongest at this time. Platelets are low, waiting to see if they go up or down. Hgb raised to 10.5 which is good. So in general, weak labs.

If your blood work is suitable, you might try Jevtana.

My husband is exactly the same.

Only this week diagnosed with brain Mets.

Liver

Spine

Almost same treatment pattern as you.

We are seeking second opinion from Cleveland Clinic and another from west coast.

We failed Jevtana- cabazitaxel.

But have done all the drugs you me ruined.

My Dad was in a clinical trial, he had mets to the dura mater (covering of brain) and had to get those radiated before he could get in. But he did eventually get in. I think it depends on how the the prerequisites/exclusions for the trial are written. Good luck to you!
