I have been on Lupron, zytiga & prednisone for six months and side effects have been minimal. Tests look good. However, in the past 7 to 20 days my fatigue level seems to have increased. Has anyone else experienced fatigue fluctuations? My Lupron injection is in the 10th week. I also wonder if the prednisone is causing some of it. Any opinions? I have bad knees and arthritic lower back problems so cant do much exercise such as walking.

Increased Fatigue
If you have access to free weights that would be good to fight through the fatigue.
My gym has a machine that works the arms only - it is sort of like foot pedals on a stationary bike, except for the arms only. Your BP and bloodwork should tell you if your prednisone intake is too high or too low.
To Drphil1938,
Fortunately I'm not fatigueing yet but I'm starting to "run out of breath easily".... I think I've had enough of this Pca crap so I'm gonna go back to chasing women.........(wanna join me?)

I tried chasing women. But one caught me.
As one of my former bosses said, just because you're on a diet, it doesn't mean you can't read the menu.
How can you run carrying a bowl of ice cream?
👀😃👀
It's the lady who I'm chasing who's carrying it. That's why I'm chasing her..since any other reason now would futile on my part.....

I am on the same regime, and experience similar fatigue. I have fatigue attacks that can be so bad that I get the shakes and cant walk or talk.
I’m on Lupron Xtandi for a year now and “ all “ of that time I’ve been extremely fatigued. I’m extremely tried and fatigued most of the time. It’s a serious struggle just to get up off the couch and shuffle my lead legs to the toilet. I sleep 12 - 14 or more hours a day sometimes. Alternating hot flashes and chills, memory issues. I run out of breath walking a short distance and huff and puff and turn red out of breath. My psa undetectable and oncologist happy with my treatment , says the side effects are common in many - most.
Supposedly , it’s not the treatment, it’s mostly the results of removing T from my body ... probably wouldn’t matter what drug a person uses to do that with. Many here in the group say that Zytiga- prednisone is the lesser of the two evils when it comes to the adt treatments for side effects.
My oncologist thinks I’m tolerating the treatment well ( wha ? ) and my wife is happy I’m still here ( introduced to my hospice crew last October but opted to try treatment instead ) .... I’m living in crippling adt hell .
Hey ... what the heck . I hope I can get a few more years of this hell I guess . It’s all worth it when everything is said and done. Way better than the alternative my wife likes to say all the time.
We’re danged if we do and danged if we don’t .... seems like.
We’re all stronger when have each outer to lean on . Lots of great guys and support here ..... that helps a lot.
Peace brother

Hey Kaliber, as stated I have similar problems but not to the degree of yours. I want to help you keep up the fight. As you know our outlook on things is a driving factor. I try to do feel good things; play with my grandkids; read a good book; pray for guidance; and smile despite our situation, life has been good.🍸🍸🤠
Right on brother , I’m with you on that. We haven’t been dealt the best hand, but we can play the cards we have. Many cancers are 18 months ( or less ) and out so most of us PCa guys are luckier in that respect .
I’ve been lucky so far ( probably should have croaked last October ) there are good good side to things to appreciate as well.
Have a good one friend
I am right there with ya, well said!
I was taking Xtandi and 2 5mg prednisone for 2 years. I convinced doctor to drop the prednisone. She said it was for fatigue. She was right. I now have much more heavy fatigue. But long term effects of prednisone might not be good. She may have assumed I will not have a long term? Prednisone is always prescribed with Zytiga. Not a doctor, but just guessing your fatigue is not caused by Prednisone.
Hey Dr Phil- I am on the exact same regime as you and for just about the same amount of time. My experience is different. I felt the worst effects in the early months. I used to have terrible Shortness of breath but I believe I’ve gotten used to it or it’s gotten much better. I have some fatigue but I believe you beat it two ways: (1) imagine it’s in your head and power through and (2) go to the gym and get a trainer who understands how to deal with an aging overweight cancer ridden man. Both help.
I'm not on ADT or other PC meds and I deal with fatigue. I wonder if the meds I take to deal with atrial fibrillation is the culprit, or is it just getting old -- I'll hit 70 in a few months.
