Had a subtotal colectomy for bowel cancer in 2017. T1. seems clear apart from radiologists reporting 'striations' in fat in the abdominal wall.
Had a prostatectomy in mid-2018. Extensive cancer in large-sized prostate with extension to lymph nodes and seminal vesicle - affected nodes and areas removed in surgery. Lab report Gleeson 9 (5+4). PSA soon after surgery was negligible. Awaiting result of PSA blood test (12months after).
Feel OK, but struggling to get weight down to the health authority 'healthy weight' for height.

The cancer removed in those lymph nodes is probably the tip of the iceberg. Where there's some, there is undoubtedly more. Cancer in lymph nodes may still be cured if you have whole pelvic salvage radiation and long term ADT. This should not be put off. You should consult with a radiation oncologist (not a urologist) ASAP.
Thank you. The Urologist ielected to be the case manager and the only other medical opinion is the General Practitioner. I have just had a PSA blood test and will be getting the results in a fortnight at the Urologist appointment. Sourcing good medical opinion, ie someone you can relate to who is skilled and up to date, is always a difficult proposition. I will start throwing out the net for an oncologist.
Will stay in touch on here and appreciate and look forward to any advice.
Are you being treated in the U.S. ? What was your PSA at diagnosis ? Your currant PSA is very important and should be undetectable. Results from a lab blood draw are available in a matter of hours, certainly no more than 2 days..I would not wait 2 weeks...And yes, time to see an M.O.
Being treated in Australia. PSA at diagnosis was 4.1. The path lab would already have the result as does the general practitioner, however the case manager is the Urologist. The appointment to find/discuss the result of the PSA blood test was (re-)scheduled next week at my request to avoid conflict with a family event.
