After 3 weeks on Keytruda, PSA has dropped 62%. Side effects haven't shown up yet. Finally some hope after years on chemo.

Congratulations..may the drop continue.....

Balsam01 posted some information on Keytruda earlier... I believe they will find that by combining Keytruda with other drugs....Parp inhibitors and CAR-T vaccines, etc that they will get more and higher response rates out of Keytrua... Companies are working on immunotherapy sensitizers that could work synergistically with Keytruda or similar drugs.... NT-219 by Kitov is an example--see below:

Just curious, does your tumor express PD-L1?

We wish we knew. The clinic took more blood for gene testing again last week.

That is great news .I may be going on Keytruda soon. Are you on any of Merck trials?

Not formally. Merck is providing Keytruda at no cost to us.

That's great.

It seems to me that, not too long ago, drugs that manipulate testosterone production or uptake by tumor cells have been the only weapons against PCa. Resistance against some of these drugs often conferred resistance against all the others, so totally different types of drugs were needed. Now we're getting more of those, including chemotherapies, radionuclides (like Lu-177 PSMA), and now more advanced immunotherapies.

It's very encouraging.

So happy it seems to be working for your husband...my husband received 2 treatments of keytruda since through gene mapping for 2nd time he was found to have Msh2 gene. Had to temporarily stop because his liver enzymes are high but feels great and PSA now undetectable with met reduction. Best of luck...

Great news. My husband was on clinical trial, Keytruda and Xtandi, no response at all, now on to Provenge and chemo. Best of luck to you. Judym

Best of wishes to you. Chemo worked for many of us.

Awesome news! My Oncoligist informed me that Keytruda would most likely be the next line of defense for my ongoing battle with PC. He indicated that Keytruda may be a cure for some of us. I hope and pray that it is for you. Like so many of our brothers on this site, I’ve been on drugs for so long, I don’t remember how it feels to be drug free. I am hopeful that immunotherapy is the answer.
