Scan the good and the bad

Visit to pain specialist today to evaluate my medication and make some changes.

She told me the scan shows reduction of bone Mets and Lymph node, the bad news is Liver is enlarged and I have 6mm spot on Lungs. I don't know if I should be concerned about this spot as Chemo seems to have got the bone Mets under control for the time being.

Thoughts?

What is your initial diagnosis, treatment history and current PSA? We can help more with that information.

Diagnosed last Nov Gleason 9 and PSA 1386, initial scan show Mets Lymph nodes and whole Skeleton, the Marrow badly affected in both Femurs. Responded well to ADT and Chemo PSA down to .018. But struggling with lot of pain in Legs, right groin and Ribs.

Are you currently taking any bone-strengthening meds such Dinosumab (Xgeva) or Zolendronic Acid (Zometa)?

Did you discuss radioembolization of the liver met?

Don't panic. Are you on Zytiga? I was just reading earlier today that in the original animal studies it could cause liver enlargement or something like that. Small spots on the lung can have a non-cancerous explanation. I had several small lung spots on my original CT scan and the MO said they could be due to something I inhaled while running. I haven't had a CT scan since so don't know if they've changed.

My non professional opinion is that you want to keep an eye on these things, but right now it wouldn't be an obvious sign of treatment failure. Make sure to spend some time celebrating the shrinking mets!

I sent a copy of the report to a Doctor friend of mine to translate (Estonian isn't my native tongue). She said Liver is normal size but Spleen is slightly bigger which could just be all the Meds. What's on my Lung isn't cancer and could be something left from chest infection like pneumonia. No bone fractures or compression's, Lymph nodes shrunk from 1,3cm, to 0,6cm.

She said overall it's a great response to treatment and not to worry.

Thoughts on Lymph node reduction. 1.3cm is it considered large, and coming down to .6cm is a good reduction ?
