For those od you eno have been in Eligard alone, could you share what kind of PSA drop did you experience in time and when did you develop resistence? I know everyone is different, but I would just like to see your experience.
Thank you

Thank you for sharing. And what a great response you had! Hope you are doing ok.
My PSA dropped from 463 to 12 in one month on Lupron which is basically the same drug as Eligard. From there it went down to .19 after about 7 months. I became resistant at about 11 months.
Thank you. Our drop seems to be much slower, but perhaps Casodex was takem away too late.
History: Initial PSA 5.2. Diagnosis after TURP 4+3 = 7. No radiation, just hormone theraphy. Put on casodex, which in total he used for 2.5 years. When PSA went to 1.1, Eligard was added to Casodex and Casodex continued for 2 months. After first 6 months on Eligard (2 of which he was in casodex as well, dad gets 6 months injection), PSA dropped from 1.1 to 0.5. Upon DRE exam we heard first time that disease has escaped prostate, something like prostate is not well differentiated from the sourounding tissue. I'm pushing for a scan.
P.S. We are not from U.S. and our treatment options are nowhere near the ones available in U.S. or most developed countries.
If the disease is not widespread, radiation or surgery should be an option for him. Did they say anything about "distant metastases"? Getting imaging done is important in order to determine the spread of the disease and how to treat it. Wishing you the best. Let us know what you find.
Thank you for your kind words! I will update as doo as we have some news.
Lupron injection in April, started chemo month later, PSA went from 125 to 0.177 within 2 1/2 months later. Only took Casodex for two months, and am still off during chemo.
