Thanks for posting Myriammole...This is part of the Multimodal approach to attacking the Beast....injecting a virus (or even two) in conjunction with chemotherapy....will they add a chemo and radiation sensitizer like RRx-001 and radiate later--- or add hyperthermia...the options are getting exciting... It gives us....HOPE..... All the best....

Thanks for posting. Very interesting. Live virus had been used to treat different cancers.

In this case they are treating prostate cancer using the virus to modify a gene in the tumor cells and cause cell death. It could open a new avenue of treatment.

Very exciting line of research, especially their doubling up of the p53 tumor suppressor gene and the interferon-beta gene. Human trials soon I hope. Thank you very much.

Not the same thing, but recently I tried to get some real data from the Rigavirus folks in Riga. Their system is to use a benign virus to shake up the immune system, and that seems to have some effect on some cancers. They had no data on PCa that was useful, so it may or may not work. One would think there would be good case data if it did work.

I had contact with the Riga people in 2014 when writing my book An ABC of Prostate Cancer in 2015. Also the Hope4 Institute in Tijuana, Mexico, just south of San Diego. These guys discontinued using it after a few trials on PCa men. They gave me a fair bit of technical data, that I have in my archives.

Having said what I have, I believe that viruses will be used successfully in the future to attack cancer cells. It is only a matter of time and $$$$. I've been doing a lot of researching into many new prospective treatments (about 70) for my new 3rd edition book An ABC of Prostate cancer Today (best 20 prospects only will be included). Due out in October. Some of these new treatments are likely to become mainstream. Others likely will fall by the wayside.

It is a very exciting time in PCa research. The huge uncoordinated international effort into PCa is truly unbelievable. We just need to keep those with mCRPC alive until a more permanent therapy emerges.

My one big "find" is the low-dose Xtandi - Vit C combination. Although only a trial sample of 1, it is so potent as a cancer killer I am certain it will work for many others, and perhaps other kinds of cancer as well. It would be great if you can get it into your book. It would also be great if a few others on this forum also gave it a go and increased the sample size (especially those who find the Xtandi is starting to fail and their PSA is rising). They would find out it it helped them in days. For me, it was to come back from the brink of a bed-ridden certain death (bad encounter with Docetaxel) and and be almost "normal" again after 2 weeks. A few weeks later, I was playing cricket with my grand-children. It has continued to work for me for 20 months now, but like all good things in cancer, the effect is declining. But a PSA of 1.32 I will "buy" at any time. I am still experimenting with doses, but for most of that time I was taking just one 40mg Xtandi capsule a week, followed the next day with 25 grams of Vitamin C in 400mls of 0.9% saline.

Sadly, this new mechanism that Xtandi somehow weakens the cancer cells to allow other agents to kill them off, has not been further investigated. Even more sadly, it is totally harmless (and cheap) to give it a go. No dangers here.

Perhaps your next book can be about the giant labyrinth of lies, protected interests, money, blind eyes, and millions of unnecessary early deaths. It is a true horror story!

David. How did you get on to Xtandi + high dose Vit C? Has this source got numbers, credibility etc. Please give us more specifics as to how it has helped you? Time on it. PSA at start. Initial dose. I presume its administered by IV and therefore under medical supervision. I look forward to hearing more from you.
