Hi there,
My 68 yr old dad has his first psa test since three months on Zoladex and 8 weeks of radiation to his prostate bed and one spinal met. First diagnosed Gleason 7 confined to prostate in 2010 resulting in prostatectomy then no further treatment until now. Gradual rise in psa to 0.8 last year resulted in a psma pet scan which was clear. Another rise to 1.4 and another pet scan in February this year and bang spinal met, stage 4.
I’m guessing that the ideal result would be an undetectable psa at this stage ? What else should we be asking the oncologist before we get sent off ? I want genetic testing done. How do we/ they know if it is aggressive pca ? When should he have another psma pet scan ? Will psa be tested every three months now?
Dad is feeling really good right now, is exercising regularly and has not been affected too much by the treatments. He wants to live to 85
Thank you in advance.
