Please read the articles Tall Allen references & if your urologist still seems resistant to Oxfigo you might make a decision to seek out an oncologist who specializes in PC Or an oncologist who is more informed about oxfigo. Early on is thought to be better than later. Oxfigo was a major factor in pain control for my husband. But we had to seek out at Vanderbilt INGRAM CANCER Center for treatment. In 2017 our oncologist at Clearview cancer was not "familiar" with Oxfigo. I

Prayers for you all as you seek the best treatment.

Xofigo should not be administered to a patient being treated with abiraterone.

I understand it shouldn’t be given in people taking zytiga but I asked about doing that before the pills and doc kept saying he’s not complaining of a lot of pain my dad didn’t complain cause he’s scared to so I guess he should have been whining maybe then we would. Have tried it?

"Here again I ask why doesn’t my dads urologist offer Xofigo?"

1. There could be good reasons. You have to ask.

2. For a doc, each new drug is a learning experience for the doc and also their team. It is a major learning investment. If your doc doesn't have experience using it, you don't want them getting that experience from you. If your doc is limiting themselves to tried and true medications, get a second opinion.
