This is what I was working on getting for my husband the day before he died last month. They're moving towards Phase 3!! It sounds VERY promising. The Dr I spoke with, who is behind the drug, was wonderful and wanted to help my husband any way he could. One of the top prostate oncologists at Johns Hopkins is on the board. I was SO excited and hopeful, as it sounded like a safe drug - wouldn't effect blood counts as other drugs do!
Unfortunately I was too late.... Early the next morning my husband had a massive brain hemorrhage. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. There was nothing that could be done to save him as the bleeding couldn't be stopped. His platelets were extremely low, due to bone marrow failure caused by his Xofigo treatments ( recent research indicates patients like my husband may have up to a 45% chance that Xofigo will cause bone marrow failure! - had we known this, we would have taken a pass on Xofigo! healthunlocked.com/advanced... ).
NEVER give up hope!! - and NEVER let anyone try to take it away from you!!!
Anyway..... I hope someone else can be helped by my sharing this news:
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You are truly an incredible woman to be willing to reach out to help others, in your profound grief. May God watch over you.
I see that you joined HU in February 2017, but only started posting 4 months ago. Without a doubt your posts have been amazing since they appear to be from someone who knows how to investigate what's the latest in Pca treatments. Thank you for all of your posts although they went way over my head.
You mentioned that your dear husband passed away last month and it saddens me to see that another brother has been taken away from us. As we all agree he is finally rid of his pain and troubles and can rest in peace for eternity. Hopefully you have family and friends to help you ease your pain and comfort you in this time of need. You are a wonderful caregiver and God will reward you with love, happiness and a peaceful life. Please stay with us, you're such a useful asset that we can use in our fight against the beast. Stay safe and peace be with you.
