After a year and a half on Lupron, psa went up to 6.1 .redid ct.scans and bone scans and then started zytiga. New scans only show three bone Mets.My first ct scan showed lesion on my liver and bone mets were all over my skeleton. Is it normal for Mets to disappear from the Lupron?

Yes. Shrinking mets is exactly what it is supposed to do. Congratulations!

My fiancé has stage 4 prostate cancer with bone Mets . He’s only 54 , was diagnosed 16 moths ago but moving slow lately feet hurt and hip . His doctor has never once talked to us about life span . If you have 4 tumors with Mets how do we know how long he has. I don’t think he likes talk about it but I need to know so

I’m more prepared . I make like as easy as possible for him but would love some insight . Thank you . ( he is only taking Lupron )

"but I need to know so I’m more prepared," you wrote. What are you going to prepare? Your plate is full enough with what is on your plate right now - the future will be whatever it will be.

Stage 4 here, going on 34 months now, I am 68. Went a aggressive attack on the cancer with chemo up front with lupron and Xgeva bone shots monthly. After chemo. Xtandi. I had to push my doctor to get a time frame. The average is a 50/50 chance of 5 years, that said I read here of my fellow monster fighters that are over 10 years.

Am in my 9th year, started with 40 mets, chemo got rid of them. Then major multiple bone mets after 3 years. 1 year later several biggies. Zytiga big help. Been very good for me. Wife is a nurse wants me to crack a further 10 years, will try as we all should. David

Thank you everyone ! It does shed some light hearing different insights . I think the internet has helped us some but also put a lot of fear and confusion , can’t find any clear consistent info . He was as strong as a bull, big arms, calves , energetic and no stopping him !! It just hurts to see him a year after being diagnosed with stage 4 to see him slowly get out of bed and body aching and losing body mass, I do whatever is needed and will always make him feel special but man we where so blind to Cancer and it’s effects . Marijuana helps him (his choice) and he said relaxed him . I’ll look into some of the suggestions everyone mentioned and thank you all so much ! God be with each one of you!!! Keeping you all in prayer.
