Scans 6 weeks after last chemo & bone mets no better & more of them

Will be seeing my Dr. on Monday but had CTs and bone scan today, just about 6 weeks after 6th & final chemo (docetaxel). She wanted these scans over PSMA to compare with same scans taken 6 mo. ago when 1st diagnosed. 6 mo. ago, the scans showed 6 mets; today, the 6 seem no different & there are 2 -3 more. Maybe too early to see results? My PSA has gone from 28.2 to 0.66. Been on Lupron whole time. Lot of anxiety between now and appt. on Monday afternoon. Thoughts?

Based on the good PSA response, it seems there is more going on than the bone scan/CT can show. Maybe try Jevtana next time.

On for 18 weeks, PSA is half of what it was, 49 down to 25, I found it more rough such as some joint aches and fatigue up to five days after the infusion, Tylenol helped. The 3rd day I crashed but by the fifth day i was back to myself but it is worth the infusions.

How is your alkaline phosphatase number on your blood tests results? Going lower or higher?

I hope your doctor appointment goes well on Monday. Keep us posted!

Number have been low of late (40s, 50s). Was high soon after starting ADT, after 1st chemo & then a bump after 5th.

Hello rsgdmd,

I have multiple mets in the bones. From March to September 2022, I got 10 docetaxel infusions. PSA dropped from 6 to 0.9. Bone scan did not show the real decrease of met loading, but CT revealed that the majority of mets were sclerotic, covered by bone tissue. Also, blood test did not find circulating cancer cells. So, I think/hope if your CT and blood test show similar results, you have positive docetaxel treatment. I do not know how long this positive results will be. I was scheduled for next blood test on Dec. 21.

what is the significance about a met being sclerotic? (genuine question since I don't know)

It looks the are not active and are covered by bone tissue. Probably, someone could answer this question in detail.
